Job Description:

The Head of Risk Transformation Office plays a pivotal role in driving remediation execution and change management across US Risk Management, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and mitigating non-financial risks. This role focuses on overseeing the resolution of Matters Requiring Immediate Attention (MRIAs), strengthening the bank's risk management frameworks, and leading efforts to address regulatory mandates. This role works collaboratively with senior stakeholders across the organization to embed risk awareness and ensure sustainable solutions.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Leads the resolution of MRIAs and other regulatory findings, ensuring timely and comprehensive remediation plans
  • Acts as the primary liaison with regulators on risk transformation initiatives, maintaining transparency and confidence in the bank's approach
  • Develops and implements frameworks to monitor, track, and report on the progress of regulatory remediation efforts
  • Executes change management strategies to embed risk-focused cultural and operational shifts across the organization
  • Collaborates with business lines and functional leaders to drive alignment with regulatory requirements and non-financial risk management objectives
  • Oversees risk transformation initiatives, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards
  • Establishes governance structures to provide oversight for risk transformation and remediation efforts
  • Delivers regular, detailed updates to senior leadership, risk committees, and regulators on progress and challenges
  • Develops reporting mechanisms to ensure transparency and accountability across all initiatives
  • Builds and leads a high-performing team to execute on the bank's risk transformation goals
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Partners with internal audit, compliance, legal, and other key stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to risk management
  • Identifies and prioritizes risk transformation opportunities in alignment with the bank's strategic goals.
  • Ensures the implementation of sustainable solutions that address the root causes of regulatory findings and enhance the overall risk management framework

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, JD, or equivalent) preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, or related roles within the banking or financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of non-financial risk management principles and regulatory requirements in the US banking sector
  • Proven track record in leading large-scale remediation and transformation programs
  • Experience in managing relationships with regulatory bodies and responding to regulatory findings
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Expertise in change management methodologies and practices
  • Strategic and analytical thinking with a results-oriented mindset
  • Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and provide actionable solutions
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to manage cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and resilience under pressure
