Job Description:

Role: Head of FCRM Data Governance and Data Quality Management

The Senior Manager, Head of Data Governance and Quality Management will be responsible for setting TD's data strategy and overall governance for AML/FCRM. This role will entail working with the various business functions at TD to gather data requirements and work with technology to engineer a multi-tenant data warehouse that allows for but not limited to data analyses, data analytics, business intelligence reporting and other downstream consumption. Core job functions of this role include but not limited to:

  • Maintain a high degree of data governance standards that entail meta-data management, data model design, data integrity, data mapping/lineage and controls
  • Perform critical data elements assessments within the financial services sector and maintain associated data dictionaries for business reference
  • Compliance with applicable Data Management policies and standards
  • Appropriate end to end transparency of data inputs and outputs to ensure appropriate usage, including responding to questions and support for model development and execution
  • Ongoing monitoring and oversight of data as required by continuing evolution of transaction monitoring models and investigation teams
  • Engagement with business units and senior management to satisfy new data demands and the resolution of identified data issues
  • Satisfactory responses are prepared for regulatory and audit inquiries on the maturity and status of the governance program
  • Support for ongoing innovation and opportunities to provide value to the bank by leveraging data assets
  • Able to engineer fit-for-purpose data models and associated entity resolution diagrams supporting the construct of building an AML data warehouse
  • Liaison with IT/Technology Department to build an AML data warehouse and execute user acceptance testing of the data model(s) prior to production release
  • Design and maintain data flow architectural diagrams
  • Able to compile data mapping documents
  • Govern the AML data warehouse future state and manage data sourcing, changes and expansion to warehouse
  • Capable of defining data validation rules, overseeing implementation of such and performing remediation when rules are triggered to ensure completeness and reliability of data
  • Develop a communication framework to convey data warehouse status, updates, and changes to consumers
  • Able to performing data stewardship responsibilities
  • Able to support management with audits (both internal and external) on matters relating to data management and governance
  • Participate in bank sponsored projects where source systems are either implemented or changed and take responsibility for ensuring appropriate changes are made to the AML data warehouse to prevent breakage in data lineage and data flow
  • Able to lead data governance and data warehousing projects with external vendors (when required)
  • Assist with the adoption of the AML data warehouse and provide training

Key Skills

  • Bachelor Degree in computer engineering or equivalent work experience in related data engineering fields
  • 7+ years of experience with data engineering, data governance and or business intelligence reporting field
  • Strong data engineering skills and proficient in SQL
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Work experience in the banking sector is preferred
  • Experience with business intelligence reporting tools like Tableau is preferred
