Job Description:

Head of Audit, Technology, Data & Delivery is responsible for overseeing, planning, executing the audit activities for Technology, Data and Change Delivery for all TD Bank Group US Holdings, segments and entities.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Designs, plans & executes Audit Plan for coverage of US Technology, Data and Change Delivery
  • Ensures appropriate technology, data and delivery coverage of the US including involvement in other audits to ensure US coverage is adequately provided
  • Works with the enterprise audit teams to ensure alignment where applicable
  • Supports the US Deputy Chief Auditor on opinions to the Audit committee on the effectiveness of US governance, risk management, and internal controls
  • Responsible for the broader Division mandate to contribute to a strong control culture
  • Liaises with regulators
  • Develops & maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Staffs the function with appropriately skilled individuals and augment with SMEs where necessary
  • Attracts, develops and retains key talent, making audit a great place to work
  • Develops a risk-based Audit Plan & deliver the plan evenly over the course of the year
  • Ensures quality of work meets division standards
  • Identifies all significant control gaps in areas we audit
  • Provides clear, comprehensive and timely reporting on significant control matters
  • Manages financial budget within plan and risk

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree required; Post Graduate degree preferred
  • Professional Accreditation such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
  • 15+ years related experience
  • Working knowledge of and proficiency with US regulatory requirements and expectations related to technology and data
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: cybersecurity, operating systems, databases, networks, Microsoft Azure, software engineering, CI/CD, web application architecture, data analytics
  • Previous experience covering both applications and infrastructure technology is a plus
  • Previous experience establishing a best-in-class technology audit team or function in a large complex financial institution
  • Previous experience developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term
  • Proven ability in leveraging deep subject matter expertise to align teams to a central vision, while also listening and engaging others to provide input in the shaping of that vision
  • Strong people management skills with demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams, proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse group of professionals, the ability to effectively work in teams across the bank with multiple stakeholders, and to influence and align others
  • Strong collaborator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate working with senior management at all levels
  • Skillful communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and partnership skills to balance stakeholder input but remains objective to reach the right outcome - ability to stay resilient under pressure
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills; able to make things happen through the use of positive influence
  • Expertise in working effectively in teams - requires a track record of working cross-organizationally and with multiple stakeholders at varying levels
