Job Description:

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW


Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses at TD. You will work with experienced colleagues, receive world class training, and be part of a community of students across TD, where you will have an impact, grow as individual and experience our culture of care.


Our Co-op/Intern Programming is offered with select Co-op and Internship roles, and is designed to help you better understand the TD business, build on critical career capabilities, and broaden your professional network. This program is designed to complement your on-the job experience and features:

  • Leadership talks with key Leaders from across the organization
  • Lunch and Learns on topics such as Innovation
  • Diversity and Inclusion and Personal Branding and so much more

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER

  • Provide business governance and control related research, evaluation, testing / assessment, reporting, review of business performance/ processes/ initiatives, operational and / or analytical support
  • Develop and/or prepare applicable business metrics / standard / ad hoc reporting in collaboration with partners and stakeholders to support decisions
  • Review processes and controls and identify issues and control deficiencies in order to increase standardization of solutions, processes and controls
  • Support the integrated implementation of policies / processes / procedures / changes across multiple functional areas
  • Understand business objectives and contribute by recommending appropriate actions based on analysis and review of results within assigned scope

SHAREHOLDER

  • Contribute to assigned activities and processes
  • Exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality
  • Be knowledgeable of practices, procedures, and trends within area of responsibility
  • Identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk activities as necessary
  • Conduct research projects; support the development / delivery of presentations / materials to management or broader audience
  • Adhere to internal policies/procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines
  • May lead work streams by acting as a project lead / SME for small scale projects / initiatives in accordance with project management methodologies
  • Protect the interests of the organization - identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by processes in alignment with risk appetite
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with Bank Code of Conduct

EMPLOYEE / TEAM

  • Participate as a member of the team, support a positive work environment and ensure timely communication
  • Support team by regularly enhancing knowledge / expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer
  • Keep current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques
  • Keep others informed about the status / progress of projects
  • Contribute to the success of the team by willingly assisting others in the completion and performance of work activities; provide training, coaching and/or guidance as appropriate.

BREADTH & DEPTH

  • First level professional role with focus on performing functional specialized business services or support within fairly well-defined parameters
  • Requires knowledge of the function and / or the business supported
  • Understands key business and functional drivers and processes in the context of their own work
  • Time horizon and nature of work is generally short-term focused daily / weekly to monthly
  • Uses existing established methods and procedures to complete assignments and / or solve problems
  • Generally works within well-defined parameters Generally reports to Team Manager / Manager
