Job Description:

Department Overview

The Wholesale FTP team within TDS Finance is responsible for managing the funds transfer pricing Liquidity Premium (LP) function for the Wholesale Bank. The principal objective of the Wholesale FTP function is to allocate FTP costs and benefits to TDS Business Lines based on external funding costs related to liquidity requirements, incentivize the right business behaviors within each TDS Business Line based on their overall strategic objectives, and ensure an accurate, transparent, and consistent framework for better strategic and tactical decision making within TDS. This position reports directly to the AVP of TDS Finance.

Job Description

The Finance Manager, Funds Transfer Pricing, within TDS Finance, is the lead and point of contact for all FTP Liquidity Premium (LP) related activities including producing the BAU monthly and quarterly results, the LP process for the Forecast/Plan cycle, stakeholder and senior management communication and education on the LP framework, and strategic direction on new initiatives including regional allocation enhancement, Tactical/Structural Business logic, and managing critical assumption reviews. The main objective for the team is to appropriately and fully allocate the TDS funding and liquidity LP costs across the TDS business lines and effectively communicate the drivers of LP charge movements to improve decision making. The Senior Manager is furthermore expected to provide guidance, leadership, coaching and development to direct reports to ensure efficient and accurate operational results as well as personal growth and development. This role also involves managing the team's involvement in regulatory compliance exercises as well as internal/external audits.

Job Requirements

Required Skill and Competencies of this Position:

  • Preference for 7-10 years of experience in Finance or Treasury FTP/Liquidity roles
  • Experience managing or leading a team, with a proven ability to provide feedback, performance reviews, and a focus on personal and career development.
  • The position allows for communication and interaction with Senior Finance and Front Office executive stakeholders both verbally and written so strong communication skills are a must.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Wholesale banking business, trade types, Fixed Income & Money Market instruments, Derivatives (such as repo, bonds, futures, forwards, options, and swaps), with an understanding on how they impact funding actions or risk management.
  • Knowledge of the TDS Funding program and products, including sources and uses of funding, secured vs. unsecured funding, and short-term vs. long-term, is considered an asset.
  • Focus on governance and accuracy to ensure results are correct; high attention to detail required with operational mindset and aptitude to improve efficiency in existing processes.
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills and a high degree of organizational awareness
  • High level of curiosity, willingness to dig deep through data, spreadsheets, and pick up the phone to get to the bottom of things.
  • Strong knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint; VBA, SQL, Dremio, Power Query, Alteryx are considered an asset.
  • Superior organizational skills to manage a high touch and time sensitive monthly and quarterly reporting process with multiple inputs.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and integrate new requirements into existing processes

Additional Information

An undergraduate degree, preferably in Mathematics, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting or Risk Management or equivalent business experience. Post-Secondary schooling and/or CFA designation an asset.
