Department Overview:

The Credit Cards & Personal Lending Finance team, within Canadian Personal Banking (CPB), is a high impact team that supports the development and achievement of financial and strategic objectives for the businesses we support. The team leads the forecasting and planning process, prepares insightful monthly management reporting, and delivers value-added analysis and business insights to the senior management team on a diverse range of financial and business matters.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Be the subject matter expert for Cards Finance supporting Credit Cards Loyalty strategy; Key credit card partnerships and TD Co-brand portfolio
  • Partner with the Business and Support Areas to build annual credit cards Plan and quarterly Forecasts
  • Support monthly P&L reporting while providing key insights on emerging trends and assessing potential impacts
  • Maintain industry and internal business awareness; Recognize & anticipate trends; Identify issues & opportunities; Recommend actions that will support business short term and long term goals
  • Actively support business on strategies/ ideations, business casing, identifying and solving accounting implications of initiatives

Job Description:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Manager role supports the development and achievement of Credit Card financial and strategic objectives. The role requires excellence in a management reporting environment, with particular focus on value-add reporting of results, forecast, business case and business partner decision support, strong relationship building skills

The role has a number of accountabilities which include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Serve as the Finance subject matter expert supporting the Loyalty strategy, support existing and new partnership deals, and co-brand relationships
  • Support P&L management reporting and forecasting of portfolios
  • Participate in developing and implementing new financial models, methodologies, and frameworks to support ongoing reporting, controls, analysis, and strategy
  • Build and manage strong relationships within Finance and across our multiple stakeholders including business unit leadership and broader functional groups at TD to draw upon organizational resources to deliver results
  • Act as subject matter expert for LOB Finance and provide critical decision-making support to the business on projects and initiatives, including business case modeling, thought leadership, and professional judgement, ensuring the appropriate financial and accounting considerations are represented
  • Promote and foster a positive working environment that encourages innovation, creativity, teamwork and strong strategic partnerships with the business
  • Exhibit a high degree of professionalism and a passion for the business by keeping current on emerging industry trends/ developments

Job Requirements:

  • Process-oriented with a focus on development, improvement/enhancement and transparency
  • Organized and detailed oriented with the ability to manage deadlines, multi-task, be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and ad-hoc requests in an environment with tight deadlines
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to identify process issues and to quickly and effectively resolve as required
  • Highly motivated / enthusiastic individual, who can 'get things done' in an organized and customer focused manner
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and organizational awareness
  • Ability to synthesize complex and vast amount of information and translate into actionable insights and strategy
  • A team player with the ability to influence and motivate others
  • Effectively communicate relevant / meaningful recommendations on a range of finance management issues or related operational processes to all levels within the organization
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (particularly Excel and PowerPoint); knowledge of Tableau or other reporting tools is preferred

Additional Requirements

  • CA/CFA/Business degree, with 7+ years of relevant experience
