Personalization and Intelligent Decisioning

The team enables legendary customer experiences and empower impactful colleague decisions by leveraging modelling expertise, OneTD perspective and programmatic execution. Through establishing standardized decisioning frameworks and reusable and scalable customer and valuations assets across the enterprise, we uplift and foster a culture of trusted, best-in-class intelligent decision-making.

The mandate of the Personalization team covers the following components: Jump start projects to Deliver in Market value quickly, maximize and enable P&L value and Efficiencies Stand tall to Develop Scaled Capabilities for Enterprise Personalization and Decisioning Cultivate colleagues growth Promote trust through effective Governance

Job Description Summary

Responsible for collecting data and using wide range of data science techniques, including but not limited to data wrangling, profiling and visualization, statistical inference, to uncover actionable insights or build analytics solutions that guide decision making and strategic planning

  • Develop and understand business drivers, definitions, and metrics to interpret findings, take-action, and provide meaningful business direction.
  • Maintain relationships with various business partners including Product, Marketing, Daas, and Technology.
  • Proactively identify key business opportunities, research, and recommend enhancements / modifications to better serve our customers.

CUSTOMER

  • Understand business context and data infrastructure and translate business problems to viable data science solutions.
  • Use a wide range of programing languages (e.g. Python) and techniques for extracting and preparing data, applying statistics and various advanced analytics, along with business acumen to extract insights from the big data.
  • Visualize insights from the data to tell and illustrate stories that clearly convey the meaning of results to decision-makers and stakeholders at every level of technical understanding.
  • Collaborate with other partners, such as data and business analysts, software engineer, data engineers, and application developers to develop scalable and sustainable data science solutions that retains long term benefit to the business.

SHAREHOLDER

  • Solicit and offer ideas for improving business processes through insights with the objective of improving effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Educate the organization on approaches, such as testing hypotheses and statistical validation of result.
  • Help the organization understand the principles and the math behind the scientist process to drive organizational alignment.
  • Translate up to date information into continuous improvement activities that enhance performance.
  • Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities for our business area.
  • Ensure respective programs/policies/practices are well managed, meets business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities.
  • Participate in cross-functional / enterprise / initiatives as a subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations.
  • Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exist.
  • Lead / facilitate and/or implement actions / remediation plans to address performance / risk /governance issues.
  • Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.

BREADTH & DEPTH:

  • Work autonomously within a specialized business management function and may provide work direction to others.
  • Provide seasoned specialized knowledge, advice and/or guidance to various stakeholders and team members.
  • Scope of role may have enterprise impact.
  • Focus on short to medium - term issues (e.g. 6-12 months)
  • Undertake and complete a variety of complex projects and initiatives requiring specialist knowledge and/or the integration of cross functional processes within own area of expertise.
  • Oversee and/or independently perform tasks from end to end.
  • Generally, reports to a Senior / Manager role.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written skills, and demonstrated ability to digest complex information and summarize in a clear, concise fashion (for executive-level consumption)
  • Very strong comfortability in accessing large data sources, performing mining, extractions and manipulations to uncover relevant data findings and big-picture stories
  • Strong analytically-anchored problem-solving skills - a logical and strategic thinker with strong critical reasoning skills, proactively identifies risks and issues, recommends solutions, challenges the status quo
  • Agile, adaptable, "can-do" attitude, high degree of responsiveness and initiative
  • Enthusiastic and focused self-starter who can work with minimal supervision to strict deadlines and is able to prioritize, multitask, and manage various projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated passionate analytical thinker with track record of delivering business impact and results through developing and executing on innovative analytics solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a history of using data to understand not only what is happening, but why it is happening, and what can be done to resolve the issue
  • Capable of working in and across teams, leading partners and aligning leadership - including proven teamwork and ability to build deep relationships with diverse business partners
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and run multiple deadlines and priorities

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, finance or computer science) Graduate's degree preferred with either progressive project work experience or
  • 3+ year of relevant experience; higher degree education and research tenure can be counted.
  • 3+ years in two or more of the following programing languages: Python, PySpark and SQL
  • Knowledge of Data Bricks, Cloud Computing, ADL (Azure Data Lake), ADF (Azure Data Factory) considered an asset
