We're there for our customers, in their communities, immediately following a Residential claim loss to ensure their urgent needs are met. As a Field Advisor you'll provide advice and support to our customers and ensure they feel taken care of in their time of need.

What You'll Do

No matter where you work at TD you'll make a meaningful impact, grow your skills and thrive in our culture of care. As a valued member of our National Catastrophe Claims Team your work will involve a range of complexity and may include the following accountabilities:

Make an Impact:

  • Gather, organize and verify required information and documentation from all available sources to ensure a thorough and complete compilation of facts to resolve claims
  • Reconcile contractor estimates from new and preferred vendors to ensure appropriate settlements are reached for the damages sustained in a catastrophic event
  • Contribute to team productivity objectives by maintaining a positive file count and open/close ratio
  • Inspect insured dwellings and complete a comprehensive scope of repair, documenting and estimating anticipated repair costs.

Experience Growth:

  • Research complicated coverage scenarios and apply this knowledge to your customer claim files
  • Learn and demonstrate our customer-centric and strategic objectives while contributing to TD Insurance Group's deliverables

Cultivate our Culture of Care:

  • Travel to the site of a Catastrophe within Canada as part of our field response
  • Consider every case as unique; apply non-biased and appropriate methods to achieve file resolution, resulting in a fair and equitable claim settlement
  • Provide direct supervision of clients by communicating clear claims processing requirements, maintaining detailed claims notes and delivering timely progress updates
  • Participate fully as a member of the team and contribute to a positive work environment

Job Requirements

What You Need to Succeed

  • 3-5 or more years of claims adjusting experience, specifically in residential insurance
  • A solid understanding of building repair techniques and requirements to produce estimates on structures up to, or sometimes exceeding, $200,000
  • Sound knowledge of both Xactimate and the use of Xactanalysis
  • You have completed HAAG certification (reviewer or inspector) or a equivalent course.
  • Excellent customer service skills; dedicated to meeting or exceeding the expectations of internal and external clients
  • Proven ability to negotiate win/win outcomes when reasonably possible
  • Demonstrated clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, and a well-practiced active listener
  • Strong ability to conduct thorough investigations; can effectively analyze evidence and identify discrepancies or gaps in data and reports
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Available to travel nationally with limited notice to support communities and customers impacted by catastrophe/weather events
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and overtime as required to meet the needs of our customers
  • Demonstrated support for process improvements; can embrace frequent change and thrive in a dynamic work environment
  • Candidates actively pursuing their Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and or other relevant continuing education are preferred
  • Provincial claims licensing may be required
  • Bilingual (English and French) written and verbal skills are required for Quebec-based applicants and may be required for Atlantic-based applicants
