Job Description:
The Auto Field Appraiser role requires you to be flexible and adaptable as you will be responsible for covering various territories. This position will enable you to leverage numerous processes for optimal coverage in the field as well as use of your qualifications and technical skills to complete inspections and capture all appraisal details. We are currently looking for appraisers in the following areas: greater Toronto area, London and Ottawa.
What you will do:
- Writing estimates and reviewing photo-based estimates ensuring accuracy
- Strong technical automotive experience required in collision repair
- Determine if a vehicle is repairable or should be deemed a total loss within compliance of the Ontario Ministry Branding requirements
- Negotiates with repair shop(s) on proper repair methods and price for the client's vehicle/repairs
- Control expenditure to repair shops by following up promptly on further damage reported by the repair shop
- Completing total loss evaluations
- Complete in-person or virtual vehicle re-inspections uploaded by repair shops
- Assist and cooperate with colleagues during busy periods
- Participate in various team and performance meetings.
Requirements
- Direct experience either appraising auto damages or working in an auto body shop
- Possess (3+ years) technical knowledge of auto body work and mechanical repairs
- Demonstrate superior interpersonal and communication skills as well as a strong client focus
- Maintain positive morale and demonstrate team spirit
- Effective communication, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external clients
- Strong problem-solving/analytical/negotiation skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Comfortable working independently & within a team environment
- Adaptable to change and new technology
- College or Technical degree would be an asset
- Completion of autobody industry accepted technical courses is an asset (continuation of education will be required)
- Interprovincial Red seal Certification would be an asset
- Valid Driver's License
