Job Description:
Successful Candidate Characteristics:
- Detail-oriented team player looking to grow professionally as part of a team focused on providing insightful advice and best-in-class execution in the development of broad-based relationships with clients in the Financial Institutions sector.
- Junior banker with a desire to develop expertise in, or more expertise in, the Financial Institutions space (including Insurance Carriers and Brokers, Asset Managers, Specialty Finance companies, Exchanges, Payment Companies, and FinTech/InsurTech companies).
- Junior Banker looking to participate in the development and maintenance of client relationships that leverage the broad-based capabilities of TD including bank financing, debt capital markets, FX and rates solutions, transaction banking/cash management, sales and trading, and third party asset management.
- Self-starter that works under the overall direction of a senior banker but that takes initiative when appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- Works within the U.S. Financial Institutions Group Corporate Banking team under the overall direction of a senior FIG Corporate Banker. Works alongside colleagues from the FIG Investment Banking group, particularly with respect to M&A and equity capital markets opportunities.
- Prepares client presentations and deal materials.
- Analyzes clients' and prospects' financial situations as well as industry and market data in order to help identify a wide range of corporate banking opportunities including bank financing, capital markets, FX and rates, transaction banking, sales & trading, and third-party asset management.
- Assists on the execution of bank financing solutions, including preparing internal memoranda to solicit internal approval for financing transactions.
- Performs financial modeling in Excel.
- Contributes to the maintenance of an environment that promotes respect for each employee and adheres to the policies and guidelines of the bank.
- Maintains confidentiality of client, prospect, and bank information.
The Analyst FIG Corporate Banking provides specialized financial and statistical analysis on a broad range of marketing and execution activities. Conducts research, on-going analysis, prepares supporting documentation, and assists in due diligence efforts on transactions.
Depth & Scope:
- Works within a deal team under the overall direction of a senior officer
- Assists in the analysis of clients' financial situations, industry and market data, and M&A opportunities
- Assists in valuations of private and public companies
- Performs basic to intermediate financial modeling in Excel
- Provides input to external client proposals and internal underwriting memos; assists in the preparation of client presentations based upon the above
- Establishes an environment that promotes respect for the individual employee and adheres to the policies and guidelines of the Bank
- Maintains confidentiality of client information
- Experienced working professional level role providing a broad range of support to the team
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics;
- Series 7, 79 and 63
- 0-3 years of related experience
