This individual will measure training effectiveness, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with both evolving workforce needs and strategic business goals. We're looking for someone who can think outside the box to create dynamic training experiences that not only upskill and reskill our teams but also future proof them by integrating modern learning technologies, critical job competencies, personalized development paths, and innovative content delivery methods. The ideal candidate will have a track record of designing and implementing training programs that not only engage employees but also directly contribute to business growth and adaptability in a rapidly changing market. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, management experience, a passion for developing people and a strong ability to create a continuous culture of learning.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team by setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

• In partnership with VP, develop strategic training objectives and implement corresponding training plans for the organization, ensuring delivery of training is occurring for all employees across multiple departments as required

• Serve as an expert resource on all aspects of staff training and development in collaboration with departmental Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

• Work in conjunction with operational leaders to evaluate technical, professional and job-related training and development needs for all employees

• Oversee learning staff in design and development of curricula, assimilation plans and courses

• Work with learning staff to deliver engaging and effective learning solutions to drive learner success and growth

• Forward thinking with NextGen learning solutions tailoring instructions to meet learner's needs

• Verify that documentation of on-the-job training and qualification updates are being accurately tracked in the system

• Ensure training complies with industry regulations, including mortgage lending laws and fair lending practices by working with the compliance department

• Leverage data and analytics to design, evaluate and continuously improve training initiatives, measure training effectiveness, track employee development and tie training outcomes to business results

• Develop and implement effective test methods in conjunction with the SMEs and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) owners to evaluate and measure results of training effectiveness and knowledge retention

• Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of training programs by gathering feedback from trainees and stakeholders

• Coordinate presentations with internal trainers and external instructors or vendors as necessary

• Develop and deliver training as necessary

• Perform other duties as assigned

You might be just who we're looking for if you have

  • Minimum two years' experience as a L&D Manager or Training Manager
  • Minimum five years' experience in in developing and implementing training and organizational development programs
  • Proven expertise in curriculum design principles, blended learning strategies, and Adult Learning Theory
  • Demonstrated knowledge of multiple methods for learning, including best practices
  • Ability to design, develop and implement solutions for training, including effectiveness and reliability assessment methods
  • Ability to assess needs related to various positions and produce training programs and materials to target these needs
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage regulations, loan processing systems, and industry best practices preferred
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to interact with and influence all levels within and external to the organization
  • Superior organizational capabilities
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and be self-directed
  • Fluency in MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS), eLearning tools, and emerging technologies like AI-driven learning platforms, virtual reality or gamification a plus
  • Proficient in using communication tools such as phone and computer, including Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to manage key timeframes and strict deadlines
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through clear verbal and written communication, collaborating effectively with both internal and external customers

FLSA Status: Exempt

Will have responsibilities such as:

  • Interviewing, selecting, and training employees
  • Appraising productivity; handling employee grievances or complaints, or disciplining employees
  • Determining work techniques and skillsets needed
  • Apportioning work among employees, organizing technology department
  • Planning budgets for business priorities
  • Monitoring work for legal or regulatory compliance
  • Providing for safety and security of the workplace

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
  • The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
