We are searching for the right candidate to join our team as an Assistant Controller for our Phoenix Division located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Primary responsibilities:
To support the V.P. of Finance in providing financial management expertise to the operating division as well as to the corporate financial organization
Manage the month end close and budgeting process for all joint ventures
Participate in the monthly Joint Venture partner meetings and present key financial reports
Ensure that accounting, control, audit and administrative duties are performed effectively and efficiently
Ensure that financial information is accurately developed, analyzed and reported to management

Ensure forecasts, project budgets and division budgets are prepared timely and accurately
Manage, motivate and develop Financial and Administrative staff
Ensure that corporate financial policies and procedures are adhered to
Ensure that all corporate and operational reports are submitted accurately and timely
Assists in the management of information system issues and concerns
Provide financial assistance to all functional areas as needed
Responsible for accuracy of financial reports for assigned entities and subsidiaries
Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MBA, active CPA candidacy acceptable
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Seven years' experience in Finance/Accounting
Accounting experience, preferably in the homebuilding, land development and/or construction industry
Experience with finance and accounting systems and software
Knowledge of cost accounting (specifically construction industry)
Prior experience managing and training accounting/finance personnel
Computer literacy, including excellent Excel skills
