The Role
Our back-end engineers are experts at making Tassat's mission clear and accessible to our customers through intelligent development of well-designed visual elements.
An ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for identifying opportunities to improve user experience, robust experience translating design frameworks into code to improve both internal applications, and a proactive desire to collaborate with fellow developers, engineers, and others to pioneer the digital payments landscape.

This candidate will also possess a strong hands-on development track record with the ability to take part and contribute to various stages of the software development and delivery process including analysis, design, implementation, and testing.
This Role reports to the Director of Engineering.
What You Own
- Lead Client Implementation team and manage day to day activities of team members
- Collaborate and work with other developers, business analysts and stakeholders on the team to meet the objectives of the business
- Adhere to technical and architectural best practices and standards for the company
- Implement features and correct software defects within the platform that help drive user adoption for clients
- Test features and software defects to ensure high quality of software delivery
- Demonstrate features meet business requirements to stakeholders
- Participate in the Peer Review process for the organization
Requirements
What You Have
- Experience in a Client facing technical role
- Strong object-oriented skills
- Good working knowledge of Unix/Linux
- Clear communication skills, written and verbal
- Team player who works well in a diverse environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Work equivalent
- 7+ years in software development (analysis, development, testing, documentation)
- Strong Java Development skills in J2SE/J2EE applications
- Cloud experience, preferably GCP
- CI/CD experience, and exposure to Docker
- Strong DB skills (preferably with PostGres)
- Strong understanding of event driven I/O.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems
- Strong understanding of transaction processing
- Scripting knowledge is desirable (Perl, Python, Unix Shell scripting)
- Good knowledge of open-source frameworks especially Spring suite
- Experience (min 3 years) in Agile methodology and working with a SCRUM team
- Broad understanding of payments and settlement functions
- Hands-on experience in best practices in testing and developing of good/clean code
- Proven track record of delivery
- Software life cycle with focus on maintainability
- Adaptable to a business environment with fast changing requirements and priorities
