JOB SUMMARY

Ensures the organized flow of all inbound and outbound cases throughout the warehouse. Manages all warehouse day to day operations for both night and day shifts. Responsible for leading all warehouse management and hourly employees. Responsible for maintaining warehouse cleanliness while ensuring the warehouse is maintained in a safe and operational manner. Manages all warehouse productivity and operating expenses. Orders all warehouse supplies and materials. Provides support to VP/GM. Manages all warehouse staffing needs. Responsible for implementing and executing Sysco IFG's Food Safety Policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the execution of inbound and outbound cases within preferred operating times and expenses.
  • Walks the warehouse to ensure all employees are following preferred work methods and SOP'S (standard operating procedure).
  • Oversees warehouse day to day operations.
  • Pre-plans for daily and weekly schedules for container shipping and inbound freight.
  • Reviews daily productivity for inbound and outbound, manage overtime and calculates weekly hourly incentives.
  • Participates in daily recap meeting with senior management to discuss operating issues or concerns.
  • Reviews all warehouse credits and claims.
  • Handles warehouse cleanliness and warehouse food safety.
  • Conducts interviews, progressive counseling, training, development and follow up meetings with staff.
  • Assists with expediting customer service orders and monitoring orders and inventory for order completion
  • Assists Sales management in resolving any shipment or returns issues
  • Enforce proper use and maintenance of any warehouse equipment - motorized or other
  • Motivating, organizing and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

HSD or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience

5 years of food distribution experience, including 3 years of supervisory experience.

Professional Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lead others, detail-oriented
  • Ability to use a fax, copier, calculator, and cell phone required.
  • Paid time off approvals for warehouse personnel.
  • Changing schedules to improve operating costs.
  • Approving claims, credits, and sales folders.
  • Issuing progressive discipline.
  • Building maintenance decisions.
  • Major purchases (Purchasing wearables, RF equipment, ordering Robot wrappers).
  • Approving additional headcount over set approved headcount or staffing.
  • Changing or approving wage structure.
  • Hiring and termination decisions.
  • Weekend shift approval
