Position Summary:
The Building-Facility Maintenance Mechanic (Level I) is responsible for trouble shooting, repairing, replacing, and installing all non-production Facility equipment and performing general building repairs and maintenance tasks, including daily monitoring and maintenance of Boiler, Air Compressors, Chillers, and HVAC equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform daily work assignments and special work projects (i.e., equipment re-location, installations, and upgrades) as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Department Manager in conformance with GMP standards and company general and safety policies. Prioritize daily work assignments to ensure completion in an effective and timely manner.
- Perform general building repairs as needed.
- Ensure bulk manufacturing preventive maintenance and valve reconditioning procedures are completed. Requires company-provided "Confined Space" and "Lock Out / Tag Out" certification.
- Respond promptly to pages for non-scheduled/non-routine repairs.
- Complete work orders for repairs and record activities in logbooks when required.
- Daily monitor and maintain Boiler, Compressors, Chillers, & HVAC Equipment.
- Continually monitor facility and equipment and report potentially unsafe conditions.
- Participate in monthly safety training and inspections.
- Maintain shop tools and Maintenance Machine Shop in clean and efficient operating condition. Request supplies as needed.

- Recommend processes, equipment, and machinery that can contribute to projects or upgrade or improve productivity.
- Must be "Powered Industrial Equipment" certified following the successful completion of internal training.

Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED), or trade school
Minimum Experience:
- 3-5 years building and equipment maintenance experience, including basic plumbing, electrical, millwright and rigging; welding, burning, cutting, grinding and metal fabrication; and use of power and hand tools and machine shop tools such as Lathe, End Mill, Band and Chop saws.

- Ability to read, comprehend equipment manuals and blueprints-schematics.
- Ability to understand and follow training in department areas such as SOP's, Safety, Conduct, etc.
- Ability to apply all relevant policies in a consistent, timely and objective manner.
- Planning / Organization - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities/deadlines. Capable of working with peers and associates from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner. Uses time effectively.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate hand and power tools. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- This position may require overtime and weekend work depending on business needs.
- This position is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, elevated ambient temperature, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, heights, and outside weather conditions.
- Exposed to outdoor environmental weather conditions year-round.
