About the role
As an Associate Compliance Analyst, you will support the execution of Symetra Investment Management ("SIM") and SIM REI's Compliance Program. Program responsibilities include the maintenance and testing of the firm's compliance policies and procedures, adherence of State licensing requirements, surveillance and execution of the firms code of ethics program, completion of regulatory filings and other ad hoc projects associated with maintaining a compliance program of a registered investment advisor. You'll be in office with the team 1-2 days a week in CT.

Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor and perform surveillance testing on SIMREI policies and procedures to determine effectiveness of related control processes.
- Develop monitoring and surveillance processes for SIMREI to ensure compliance with applicable state licensing laws.
- Monitor SIM & SIMREI Code of Ethics and internal policies for violations; report out violations, warnings and near misses with a focus on trends, recidivism and root cause strategic analysis.
- Assist compliance team with surveillance control processes for SIM (Registered Investment Advisor) including surveillance of client investment guidelines.
- Assist the CCO in conducting annual or periodic compliance risk assessments.
- Maintain and suggest updates to the SIMREI compliance manual and work/train others on such policies and protocols as needed.
- Prepare and help respond to regulatory audits, due diligence requests and other inquiries.
- Perform various other compliance tasks, including, but not limited to, properly escalating compliance concerns and other ad hoc compliance based projects.

Compensation
Salary Range: $55,000 - $91,700 plus eligibility for annual bonus program
Requirements
Your education, experience and skills
- Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Law-related field.
- 1+ years in Investments, Audit, Technology or Finance related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates attention to detail while being analytically oriented.
- Ability to multi-task and to work both independently as well as in a team environment.
- Continuously exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative.
- Results focused.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF).
- Ability to travel to the Farmington, CT office 1-2 days a week.
