Job Summary:
The Director Clinical Research and Analytics serves as the clinical outcomes champion for the Surescripts network and portfolio of solutions. They will articulate the value that Surescripts' broad portfolio of offerings brings to increase patient safety and access to care, lower healthcare costs, and ensure quality care. They will do so through a combination of original research and analysis; content development; engaging with healthcare industry stakeholders and Surescripts customers to discuss the clinical benefits of products; and developing relationships with industry experts to influence the quality and analytics innovation agenda with key constituents.

Responsibilities:
- Develop original "clinical thought leader" content to highlight Surescripts' network and solutions:
- Develop a library of "thought leadership" content (including, but not limited to blogs, white papers and others) to support corporate initiatives and/or products
- Build out a research agenda and lead original research, quality improvement studies and analysis of end-to-end e-prescribing processes, net new e-prescribing functionalities and other Surescripts product services to identify best practices, inform industry and internal business decisions and further patient safety
- Work with academic centers, medical associations, or governmental agencies to conduct product primary research, and/or research on public health topics
- Align research efforts with overall business goals and objectives.
- Serve as "clinical outcomes champion" with customers and other key stakeholders:
- Serve as clinical outcomes resource for customer meetings to explain clinical impact and value of Surescripts' strategic initiatives and products
- Support Surescripts internal constituents regarding efforts to collaborate with and educate state and federal government agencies and other regulatory and standards bodies
- Raise Surescripts' profile with relevant industry and medical associations:
- Speak at industry events, trade shows and Surescripts meetings in representative role regarding Surescripts' products and quality initiatives
- Attend relevant healthcare and medical professional conferences and build relationships with industry thought leaders to educate them about Surescripts and relevant initiatives
- Assist Surescripts in engaging with medical associations to execute new and existing business strategies
- Provide healthcare expertise to internal stakeholders:
- Act as healthcare consultant resource to Product Innovation team with respect to new product development, product design, and value proposition development
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) to develop hypotheses and methodology (both qualitative and quantitative) for primary product-based research projects
- Serve as the primary leader to determine appropriate journal selection for publishable manuscripts in addition to being the primary lead to oversee the submission process (beginning to end) of the publication
- Serve as Chair of the Surescripts Research Committee which is responsible for prioritizing research topics for publications and grants
- Explore new applications of Surescripts' Data and Analytics capabilities to answer more advanced analytical questions of clinical, operational, or public health value
- Frame and answer higher complexity questions identified in the Data and Analytics intake process
- Respond to higher complexity queries from customers and public health institutions
- Procure research grants to fund expansion of in-house analytics capabilities
- Participate in the exploration of a new line of business built around advanced analytics
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- PhD, MD, PharmD or equivalent advanced degree in a clinical or healthcare-related field
- 10+ years of experience in related, progressive roles
- 3+ years of experience in clinical or public health research practice settings or relevant industry experience
- Familiarity with healthcare data, electronic health records (EHRs), and patient outcomes
- Demonstrated expertise in leading research and analytics teams and implementing successful
- research initiatives. Understand the business context and how research can drive value across different functions (e.g., operations, marketing, finance)
- Experience writing research grants and proposals to secure research funding
- Experience publishing various types of manuscripts (editorials, white papers, research projects)
- Experience preparing and presenting materials for C-suite level executives

- Demonstrated success in building a research capability in a corporate environment
- Clinical research subject matter expert for business development assessments
- Visionary about the use of predictive analytics in clinical care
- Ability to articulate valuable analytics questions
- Ability to interpret statistical analysis and act as a data translator (ability to translate raw data into actionable insights for internal/external customers)
- Knowledgeable about medication supply chain management

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $184,000 - $224,800 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
