Job Description

The Financial Analyst, Grants, plays a crucial role in collaborating with schools and corporate office departments to uphold operational and financial processes. This ensures consistency in data collection and analytical execution for all the grants. The person will maintain an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls, a responsibility that is integral to the organization's financial health. She/he will report directly to the Lead of Grants & Compliance.

Responsibilities

For Grants Funding:

  • Ensure appropriate tagging and optimal utilization of funds in compliance with all funding requirements
  • Responsible for grants budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Collect and analyze data to provide regular visibility on grant spending and address revenue loss from underspending.
  • Partner with various departments to improve the understanding grant funded spend
  • Prepare key reports and provide analysis to leaders
  • Support the monthly and annual financial reporting process
  • Provide the Accounting team with documentation to support the month-end close
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations
  • Drive efficiencies in Grants Management - automating tasks wherever possible
  • Provide ad hoc financial and business decision support as needed by the Controller & CFO, and other functional leaders
  • Provide audit and review support for annual fiscal audit and ad-hoc government procedures

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-3 years of relevant accounting or financial analysis
  • Candidates from non-profit and private sectors will be considered
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets and Slides, and financial modeling experience
  • Strong understanding of P&L and balance sheet and reconciliation
  • Experience with a Net Suit system or similar reporting tools
  • Accustomed to large data sets with complex arrangements
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage several complex budgets, understand the interrelationship as well as overlapping restrictions, projects, and initiatives
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills are a must for this role. The candidate should be able to clearly and accurately convey messages to various leaders across the organization, ensuring that financial information is effectively communicated and understood.
  • Able to balance the big picture with concise details to convey messages in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Direct, honest, and supportive in communications, and takes ownership of accuracy and timeliness of deliverables
  • Comfortable in high growth environment with evolving responsibilities, frequent priority shifts, and deadlines.

Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00
