Job Description Summary:
The Test R&D Engineer, Co-op will work with the Opto-mechanical Test R&D team to ensure we develop high quality products within Stryker Endoscopy's product portfolio. Test R&D engineers design test methods and supporting fixtures, evaluate product designs through testing, and ensure our products meet Stryker's high standards for product quality while meeting the needs of our customers and our business. The role requires someone who has great communication, problem-solving, and technical skills.
Essential Functions:
- Participate as part of the Test R&D team throughout development from design feasibility up to product launch.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Project Managers, Design, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.
- Assist in the design and development of test methods and fixtures to support new product development within Stryker Endoscopy's product portfolio.
- Perform testing throughout the project and appropriately documenting procedures and results
- Evaluate design options and bench testing to help inform decisions in product development.
- Support prototyping efforts for product development and test fixturing.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Third year undergrad or higher in mechanical, optical, mechatronics, or other related engineering fields.
- Knowledge:
- Experience with CAD software (preferably SolidWorks)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience with data compilation and analysis
- Ability to create technical documentation when required.
- General Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow to meet commitments.
- Versatility and flexibility to work in a job environment that may have consistently changing priorities.
- Proven ability to handle projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Self-managed and motivated
