We are currently seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to work (hybrid) out of our headquarters in the Kalamazoo, Michigan area. (Relocation offered).

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of advanced electrical systems, supporting new product development within our Neurosurgical group. Your expertise will drive innovation, solving complex technical challenges and contributing to the success of cutting-edge projects. What You Will Do:
- Engage in all phases of new product introduction: concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support
- Lead design, development, and implementation for control of BLDC, Stepper and brush motors.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to develop and integrate complex hardware and software.
- Lead test and verification of motor controller system using Software-in-the-loop (SIL), hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and dyno bench testing.
- Derive system level requirements, analysis, and traceability to align with various regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers/partners on technical development topics to ensure program milestones are achieved.
What You Will Need: (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in EE or related discipline & 8+ years of work experience.
- FPGA (Field-programmable Gate Array) and microcontroller interface and system integration experience.
- Working knowledge of PCB layout and electronics manufacturing processes.
- EMI/EMC debugging experience.
- Experience with product safety and EMC regulatory standards and agency testing.
- Circuit design and implementation experience in such areas as CAN, Ethernet, Load Drivers, Motor Control, Microcontrollers/Microprocessors, Memory, On-Board Power Management
- knowledge of Low-speed and high-speed digital design techniques and communication bus interface and standards.
- Operational and working understanding of hardware in digital, power, analog and RF areas.
- $109,500- $232,900salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
