Materials Supervisor
(Monday - Thursday - compressed week)
To supervise people and process. The role will supervise the following functions: Goods Receiving, Off-site storage, material control, packaging, and Despatch. Ensure KPIs are achieved and actively work towards improving the performance of your team and function. To supervise a process and schedule to verify and maintain inventory accuracy.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Ensure that work is completed strictly in accordance with work instructions, procedures, and process flows. To identify and resolve by liaison with other departments as appropriate any procedural or process issues or defaults in material management.
- To work collaboratively with demand planning, sourcing, Operations and Finance to provide material availability analysis and provide insight to optimum build schedules.
- To liaise with other managers and supervisors to introduce a culture of zero tolerance to defects.
- To manage offsite storage and delivery, minimizing wastes in the value stream
- To be the site owner for materials accuracy
- To manage the inbound and outbound logistics ensuring JIT of raw materials the right product at eh right time to the outbound customer.
- To deliver process improvements on material controls
- To deliver the 6S deployment and set golden standard for 6S adherence.
- To ensure material accuracy throughout the value stream.
- Liaise with Engineering and other departments regarding new or modified products to ensure, receipt, handling and packing processes are developed to the highest standard and are validated before production
- To organize and complete stock taking activities as necessary.
- To issue purchasing material review and ensure material availability in the necessary areas to meet the production schedule
- To leverage cost in material approval, handling and storage.
- To train materials team on new or modified processes and to maintain records accordingly
- To supervise the disposition of all defect product.
- To maintain Bill of Materials item master data for current and future materials.
- Contribute and maintain the company's Health and Safety policies and to ensure that all areas of stores, packing and despatch meet these requirements through good housekeeping and timely disposition of material.

Qualifications Knowledge Skills
- Required Qualifications:
GSCE: Grade C or above in Maths and English
Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Desired Qualifications/Experience:
Continuous improvement or process improvement experience. Green belt or black belt certification preferred.
- Experience:
5 years' Experience within a Manufacturing environment
2 years relevant professional experience
Previous supervisory experience in Medical Device manufacturing desirable
- Specific Knowledge:
Knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality systems in a Manufacturing Environment
ISO:9001 and ISO:13485
- System/Computer Requirements:
Microsoft Office, SAP or equivalent ERP system
