What You Will Do:
A Field Service Technician will spend the majority of their time in four key areas:
- Traveling between hospitals based on assignment of service requests.
- Troubleshooting and resolving customer and product issues.
- Building positive relationships with Stryker customers
- Documenting service results in order to maintain accurate quality records.

The environment and culture for this role is fast-paced and you'll constantly be on the go. It requires the ability to solve complex problems while maintaining strong relationships with our customers and sales representatives. Through time as a Field Service Technician, the foundation is laid to follow multiple career paths including engineering, project management, and leadership. The person in this role should love to solve problems. Candidates must be willing to spend most weekdays traveling, be capable of successfully communicating with our customers, and have strong documentation skills.

Basic Function
- Be Stryker's face of service to specified health system or territory. Increase customer uptime through proactive product and process support and partner with customers to drive a seamless delivery experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver technical service to customer's products and processes as defined by the statement of work; manage customer's expectations
- Become an expert on properly maintaining the Stryker products within your realm of responsibility
- Perform service to customer's equipment without negatively impacting their daily business / work flow
- Manage your schedule and resources. Constantly prioritize and urgently respond to changing customer needs.
- Problem-solve fearlessly. As much as possible, work independently to provide exceptional customer solutions. Reach out for help as needed.
- Be willing to sacrifice. Realize that your solutions may demand non-standard work hours and stressful working conditions.
- Teach cleaning and maintenance best practices to operating room, central sterile and biomedical teams.
- Challenge the status quo. Drive process improvements which increase value and sustainability for customer and Stryker.
- Accurately report and record all testing and procedure information in compliance with Stryker and customer quality requirements.
- Plan for frequent travel between hospitals in health system / territory based on priority of service requests.
- Always build positive relationships with customers, reps and peers.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- Passion for impressing customers; innate desire to outperform the competition.
- Willing to work overtime and limited overnight based on customer need.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have near visual acuity (corrected) color vision, mobility, bending, standing, stooping, and finger dexterity.
- Must be able to observe and correct minute inconsistencies (e.g. in the printed word, product appearance, etc.).
- Excellent time management skills with ability to use independent judgment and critical thinking effectively.
- Ability to exert up to 50lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs of force to constantly move objects.
- Ability to remain standing and/or walking for an extended period of time.
- Maintain professional appearance, work ethic, and attitude required by Stryker and our customers.
Mental Requirements
- Must be able to read, understand and explain detailed technical information.
- Must be able to develop and deliver effective technical training.
- Must be able to analyze and resolve highly technical field service support issues using independent judgment.
- Must be able to coordinate detailed travel arrangements to include the shipment of parts to customer accounts.
- Must possess the ability to prioritize work and keep detailed and accurate records.
- Must be able to work under mentally challenging and stressful conditions with autonomy.
Qualifications/Work Experience Preferred
- 2-3 years of operating room, central sterile or biomedical experience preferred
- Bio-medical equipment maintenance, repair and installation experience preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (computer software) and adaptability to learn company software.
- Must be able to explain and generate detailed guidelines and procedures.
- Adhere to (HIPPA) and other related patient confidentiality policies and procedures.
- Valid driver's license with good driving record.
Education/Special Training Required
- Bachelor Degree preferred.
