In support of the SSGA Fixed Income, Cash & Currency (FICC) team's investment efforts, the Structured Corporate Credit Analyst will lead research efforts focused on bespoke investment opportunities that will include reviewing a range private capital solutions for investment grade rated corporations. The Structured Corporate Credit Analyst will perform analyses on individual investment opportunities, including formulating fundamental credit opinions, reviewing an investment's structure components, and performing relative value analyses.
Primary responsibilities
- Analyze financial data, statements, and trends and conduct due diligence to inform strategic decision-making for investment opportunities in complex private debt transactions.
- Review debt structure, creditors rights, collateral valuation, and accounting/regulatory risks.
- Develop scenario analyses based on qualitative and quantitative assessments of corporate financial performance, covenant and creditors protections, and collateral performance.
- Define risk and return expectations based on scenario analyses and market-based comps.
- Review all documentation related to investment opportunities.
- Engage with internal and external legal, corporate accounting and corporate advisory teams.
- Make purchase and sale recommendations based on credit profile and valuation.

Qualifications
- Five to ten years of experience in corporate finance and/or advisory services.
- CFA and/or MBA preferred.
- Thorough understanding of corporate capital structures, principles of corporate accounting, fundamental credit analyses, with a general understanding of sector fundamentals for a variety of major global industries.
- Strong quantitative skills, including the ability to perform complex calculations and to build, scale, and utilize complex financial models.
- Understanding of asset-based financing and related valuation considerations.
- Ability to work under pressure and to execute in a timely manner for complex private credit investment opportunities.
- Ability to incorporate multiple portfolio risk profiles for investment recommendations.
Standard Daily Schedule
- Review new issue and secondary markets for private structured credit opportunities.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers to recommend purchase, sales and/or portfolio re-balancing.
- Discuss ongoing surveillance of existing portfolio holdings.
- Prepare investment memorandums for portfolio managers and risk management teams.
