In support of the SSGA Fixed Income, Cash & Currency (FICC) team's investment efforts, the Senior Structured Product Credit Analyst will provide credit research and security selection across a range of structured product exposures. The Senior Analyst is part of the credit research effort providing FICC portfolio managers with fundamental credit opinions/valuation analyses and supporting daily portfolio construction activities. Quantitative modelling skills, experience in cash flow analysis and expertise in securitization are required.

Primary responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert in key structured product sectors.
  • Possess strong relationships with street research and trading desks, industry strategists and the respective analysts at the credit rating agencies.
  • Review primary and secondary market structured product investments to determine suitability for relevant portfolios. Reviews to include qualitative and quantitative analysis of the perspective investments.
  • Make purchase and sale recommendations based on credit profile and valuation.
  • Synthesize market conditions to create and update base, stress, and other scenarios to analyze structured investments in order to generate cash flows for potential impairments testing and to identify potential risks and/or trading opportunities.
  • Review legal documentation and evaluate structures associated with investment opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing analysis and surveillance of exposures held across FICC portfolios.
  • Contribute to top-down sector risk targeting discussions.

Qualifications

  • Five to ten years of structured products experience.
  • CFA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of securitization structures.
  • Ability to incorporate multiple risk profiles when making investment recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg, Intex, Trepp and other standard industry platforms.

Standard Daily Schedule

  • Review new issue and secondary market opportunities for structured investments.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers to recommend purchases, sales and/or portfolio re-balancing.
  • Review of credit rating actions for existing exposures.
  • Utilize existing suite of tools to assess investment opportunities (e.g., Intex, Trepp, Aladdin/ANSER)
  • Discuss ongoing surveillance of existing portfolio holdings.

$110,000 - $185,000 Annual
