As a Lead Java Engineer at State Street you will be part of an exciting Cash and Payments organiztion where you will provide leadership and vision in building out current platforms as well as keeping focus on future platforms. In this role, you will establish best practices and be heavily involved in designing, developing and deploying microservices and UIs running on-prem as well as public cloud. You will serve as a technical subject matter expert providing hands-on guidance and mentorship to development teams as well as contributing to the evaluation, prototyping and selection of software solutions. Your leadership will promote that all implementation solutions support architecture objectives of availability, scalability, performance, security, maintainability, flexibility, portability, and reusability.

What you will be responsible for
As Software Engineer you will
- Design and build new software and features for existing systems
- Uses strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns to design software that promotes efficiency, testability, and maintainability
- Provide detailed articulate technical designs explaining what and how application components are impacted for release changes
- Identify continuous improvements to the development process to aid productivity and increase quality
- Keeps pace with business trends, standards, and best practices in areas of technical expertise, contributing to continuous improvement
- Participate and contribute to discussions involving application architecture, configurations, system performance tuning, and infrastructure and middleware integration

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related or relevant field
- 5+ years' experience as a software developer
- Experience with private/hybrid/public cloud architectures
- Experience with micro-services architectures
- Experience in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
- Experience with programming languages, tools/frameworks, databases, and middleware such as Java, Spring, Node JS, React, Javascript, Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL, MySQL, NoSQL Databases, MQ, and Kafka
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with agile and waterfall delivery practices
- Familiarity with private/hybrid/public cloud architectures
- Working knowledge of building CI/CD automated pipelines
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus, Dynatrace
- Familiarity with Selenium, Junit, Jasmine, Mocha, Cucumber BDD framework
- Experience in working with delivery efficiency software such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence

Salary Range:
$75,000 - $120,000 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
