Who we are looking for

The Sr. Product Manager - Platform role is a hands-on, business-to-technology role integral to the Charles River platform. The candidate must have excellent communication, hands-on project management skills, and resource forecasting capabilities to properly plan and execute roadmaps across technical and component level teams. This role will work side-by-side with Technical Team Leads, Platform Product Managers and Business Analysts to oversee the assignment, execution, and delivery of initiatives that enhance the CRIMS technical platform.

Working across multiple engineering teams and product owners, the role will oversee the roadmap for the "Utilities and Administration" sector of the platform. This role will drive definition and delivery, team management, functional and non-functional requirements for our unified platform administration service and our suite of internal utilities to ensure optimal operation of our product suite of offerings.

Additionally, the candidate will work closely with other areas of the organization such as professional services, technical implementation services, relationship managers, support, and operations teams to ensure the administration and tooling meets both internal and external stakeholder needs.

The candidate will assist PMs and BAs in managing their product backlogs, ensuring engineering teams are taking full advantage of their allotted capacity. This role will also provide guidance and mentorship to PMs and BAs within the Platform department on career development, employee performance, engagement, and professional development. The position is based in London, UK.

The team you will be joining is part of the Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS) and State Street Alpha, a market leader in providing a comprehensive end-to-end investment management platform covering front, middle and back office. The platform offers portfolio management, compliance, order and execution management, post-trade processing, data provisioning and management, performance measurement, as well as other key capabilities important to the investment lifecycle.

What you will be responsible for

  • Lead the design, resourcing, and execution of the administration and utilities strategic initiatives across multiple development teams.
  • Thoroughly understand Cloud native services and architecture to propose, specify, and plan the implementation, integration, and launch of product and services.
  • Represent the application platform from a product standpoint to understand priorities, available resources, and timelines.
  • Gather requirements from internal & external parties (design, engineering, partners, vendors, etc.) and create initiatives and manage deconstruction and delivery of the admin and utilities pillar, prioritized based on company objectives and strategies.
  • Create and manage cross-team initiatives that leverage resources from many different teams and expertise - including engineering, business, QA, support, and cloud operations.
  • Be able to and willing to present to a wider internal & external audience for reviews and decision making.
  • Maintain the utilities and administration platform roadmap and work hand and hand with team leads, PMs, and BAs to ensure progress according to plan.


  • Ensure the delivery, documentation, and training of the platform's deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in product management, business analysis for software systems.
  • Experience leading product management and software engineering teams.
  • Experience working with cloud technology solutions.
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, product management or equivalent, and/or other work experience in a technical setting
  • Experience in Financial Services is preferred.
  • Experience working with remote teams.
  • Strong UI/UX skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong contributor with high motivation, with the ability to take initiative, set priorities and perform tasks with minimal guidance.
