Why this job is important to us

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced network engineer to oversee the operations of our data center in Burlington, MA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network technologies and data center management. Working with IT Leadership, this is a key position as your focus will be designing and implementing the architectural standards for the entire business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the day-to-day operations of the data center, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Lead the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network equipment, including Palo Alto firewalls and Extreme Networks switches.
  • Implement and manage the latest Extreme NAC and WIFI solutions to ensure secure and efficient network access.
  • Oversee our monitoring system to ensure optimal network performance and guide junior engineers to fine tune the system.
  • Work with ISPs to implement and upgrade data circuits.
  • Have an understanding of power requirements and high availability power systems
  • Develop and enforce data center policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to plan and execute data center projects, including upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of data center infrastructure through regular audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Manage vendor relationships and service contracts to ensure timely support and maintenance of data center equipment.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to data center staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data center management and network administration.
  • Expertise in Extreme Networks ecosystem: switching, NAC, and WIFI. This is a core requirement for the candidate to be successful. Applicants with Extreme Networks experience will receive higher consideration.
  • Understanding of firewalls: Palo Alto, Juniper. Panorama skills are a plus. Site to Site VPN and circuit installation.
  • Strong understanding of network concepts, including DNS, DHCP, and common routing protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with 3 days a week on-site in Burlington, MA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Extreme Networks certifications, or similar.
  • Experience with data center automation and monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices and experience in implementing them.

Salary Range:
$80,000 - $132,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
