Chief Data Office (CDO) - Global Technology Solutions at State Street has a mandate to govern and report on data health across the enterprise. CDO is rolling out multiple initiatives and operating model changes to execute these initiatives and generate value for our internal and external clients.

We are looking for a Data Engineer with 8+ years of work experience with hands-on cloud data engineering experience. The candidate should have industry experience (preferably in Financial Services) in building cloud based database engineering platforms.

Role Summary & Role Description

As a Cloud Data Engineer , you will

  • Design and develop high volume data ingestion components and solutions to collect data from various sources.
  • Build data integrations between on-prem/cloud-based systems.
  • Manage and use appropriate tools in the cloud data lake development and deployment.
  • Responsible for developing/implementing cloud infrastructure to support current and future business needs.
  • Participating in technical design, application build, configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.
  • Preparation and maintenance of appropriate technical design documentation and diagrams
  • Develop new application features based on business requirements and UX inputs
  • Integration with front-end development/services
  • Work with other teams for deployment, testing, training and production support
  • Ensure that development, coding, privacy and security standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Ownership in diagnosis and resolution of issues, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners.

Core/Must have skills

Hands on experience with AWS Cloud Data Engineering with Databricks platform

Expertise in Data Modeling and DB design

Hands on experience in setting up data pipelines for ETL jobs across multiple data sources.

Experience and strong knowledge of Cloud Security in AWS/Azure, specifically IAM Roles & Polices, Security Groups and Encryption keys.

Proficient in Oracle RDBMS and Python/Java/PLSQL coding

Strong skills in performance tuning, GIT, Jenkins, Autosys/Control-M/Job Schedulers

Good to have skills

Understanding of CICD and DevOps

Understanding of Data Governance tools like Collibra DIC and Collibra Data Quality will be a big plus
