Risk Management, Officer - 9 month fixed term contract
Your Role
As part of an effective Second Line of Defence function, the Risk Management team leads the development, implementation and operation of the IFDSL Risk Management Framework, ensuring that all risks within IFDSL are adequately identified, assessed, managed and monitored and that strategic plans are realised in a way which reflects the risk appetite of the Board. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting these objectives.
Your Team
The successful candidate will be part of the Risk Management team reporting into the Head of Risk Luxembourg and part of the European IFDS Risk Management Team.
Your Responsibilities
As Operations Risk Manager - you will:
- Drive the Risk Management Framework: Support the annual review and implementation of core risk management elements, including Risk Management Policy, Risk Management Framework, Risk Appetite Statement, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
- Prepare and participate in Risk Committees: Bring together key stakeholders from various departments to discuss and decide of key risk topics, and ensure effective follow-up on decisions.
- Contribute to key risk management programs: Participate in risk assessments such as Risk and Control Self-Assessment, Outsourcing Risk Assessment, Incident review, and New Business Risk Assessments.
- Report to Senior Leadership: Prepare and deliver reporting to Senior Management on a regular basis and continuously seek opportunities to streamline and optimize the reporting processes and methodologies.
- Foster a risk culture: Champion risk awareness and transparency across all levels of the organization, promoting a proactive approach to risk management.
Your Profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree in finance or related discipline required.
- Professional Experience: 4+ years' experience with risk and control focus.
- Technical and soft skills:
- Proven expertise in operational risk management or/and in financial services.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to effectively engage with stakeholders across all levels.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
