Work activities:
Logistics:
• Overseeing Planning routes and schedules across all shifts 24X6.
• Ensuring cab movements are seamless.
• Ensure minimal user complaints.
• Coordinate with transport vendors as and when required.
Transport management:
• Directing all transportation activities.
• Monitoring transport costs.
• Negotiating and bargaining transportation prices during RFP's.
• Dealing with the effects of delays and minimising these.
• Anticipate climate, geo-political etc issues by implementing transport strategies to ensure minimal impact.
• Monitoring transport vehicles to ensure it is in alignment to the company's carbon footprint goals.
Work conditions.
• Travel: occasionally required, though not a regular feature
• Working hours: flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business.
Skills and qualities:
- Ability to use transport software e.g. MoveinSync and electronic communication methods.
- Understanding of employee sentiments
- Tact, diplomacy, and calmness, especially when dealing with critical situations, tired drivers, and disgruntled employees.
- An analytic mind and good numeracy skills.
- Excellent location/geographical knowledge.
- Good people management and coordination skills.
- Excellent financial acumen.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the employee transportation industry.
- Good intuition to make crucial judgment calls.
