Who we are looking for

State Street's Alpha Services Strategy, Middle Office Product Implementations is looking for a Business Manager across Front Office Support, Cash, Trade Lifecycle Management, Investment Accounting, Corporate Actions, Collateral Management and Performance Teams. This qualified individual will drive business management best practices across Middle Office Production Implementation Service Families. This leader will focus on driving estimation, resource forecasting, standardization of artifacts within and vendor management across all in-scope service families.

The successful candidate must be skilled in analyzing our complex business service flows across front, middle, and back office operating models for our Alpha Clients, with focus on resource allocations, budgets, process efficiencies and vendor management across Middle Office (MO) Implementations. They will define best practices of running MO Implementations with strict structure and standards, consistencies across team and apply strong financial principals of running a sound business unit by prioritizing cost savings, effective vendor management and improvements in our artifacts which will help our teams scale and achieve more within the same means.

What you will be responsible for

As Middle Office Product Implementations Business Manager, you will

  • Act as a Business Manager for MO Implementation Manager and champion process efficiencies within the company and industry representing Alpha's MO Product Implementations
  • Understand/drive and execute on Alpha's strategic plans and services within MO domain
  • Establish strong partnerships with vendor partners project sponsors and stakeholders in Operations, Technology and other product teams within the State Street and Charles River Development to influence and coordinate cross-functional business solutions and products, in support of client and business goals
  • Act as liaison between sales for new deal estimates, alpha service families, client services, and technology teams to support sound implementation practices that allow us to become lean over time and leverage talent to best use by creating internal efficiencies within the team and partner effectively within the program structure.
  • Work with business and technology partners to establish clear connections between business goals, strategies and the data and technology investments required to achieve them, while clarifying roles and responsibilities within a process.
  • Define and maintain the budget & implementation roadmap and 2-3 year vision, ensuring alignment with business transformation goals by eliminating manual procedures and redundancies across service families within MO.
  • Deliver concise and meaningful presentations for internal and external audiences, including education and training of staff, training of support groups, and executive level presentations
  • Manage ongoing implementation demand, prioritization, program and project management
  • Ensure there is appropriate alignment between Product Demand and Implementation deliverables, by having a pulse on both those arms of the Alpha MO.
  • Ensure Cost Models with Vendors are within the allocated budgets

  • Ability to multitask and navigate competing priorities, drive client expectations and deliverables to project milestone dates
  • Demonstrate excellent process and project management skills, PMP certification is a plus
  • Expertise in MS Office including MS Visio, MS/Project and PowerPoint
  • Would value some experience with SQL/database query and BI tools like Tableau
  • Competency in SDLC & Agile Methodology and tools (i.e. JIRA, Rally, RTC)
  • Position requires exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate the program objectives, inspire and motivate diverse team, and maintain alignment with the business strategy
  • Experienced in driving architecture, design and delivery of transactional data and processing platform using Agile practices and processes, with a focus of establishing continuous delivery, culture and process
  • Proven ability to work effectively with executive management
  • Strong knowledge of existing State Street organizational constructs and stakeholders would be beneficial
  • A bonus would be th strong understanding of transaction messaging protocols and format, XML, FIX, SWIFT, FPML, JSON etc.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of industry experience with front, middle, and back office integration, functionality, and electronic trading platforms (i.e. Bloomberg PORT, CRD, BRS Aladdin, SimCorp Dimension, Fidessa Minerva, Eze Software, BBH Infomediary etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of existing State Street organizational constructs and teams required, in addition to deep understanding of middle and back office systems, functions and services supported at State Street
  • Proven ability to work effectively with executive management
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of budget management and vendor management best practices
  • Ability to influence and work collaboratively across multiple organizations to reach common goals
  • Demonstrate excellent process and project management skills
  • Expertise in MS Office including MS Visio, Project and PowerPoint
  • Strong understanding of transaction messaging protocols and format, XML, FIX, SWIFT, FPML etc.
  • SQL/database query skills a plus
  • Competency in SDLC & Agile Methodology and tools (i.e. JIRA, Rally, RTC
  • BS degree in Finance, Economics or Engineering
  • 15+ years of industry experience with front, middle, and back office integration, and functionality.

Salary Range:
$170,000 - $252,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
