Leveraged Loan Research Analyst, Vice President

We are looking for a new team member to join the Fixed Income Beta Solutions Investment Team within State Street Global Advisors (SSGA). The role is based in London. You will join a dynamic, successful, collaborative team of investment professionals, managing SSGA's fixed income portfolios, bringing market-leading solutions to our clients.

The Global Fixed Income team comprises a team of over 100 investment professionals in eight global locations. The Fixed Income Beta Solutions Team manages $555 billion in fixed income ETFs, mutual funds and institutional mandates (as of June 30, 2023) across a broad spectrum of products on behalf of a wide range of clients.

SSGA is one of the industry's largest institutional asset managers and is the investment management arm of State Street Bank and Trust Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of State Street Corporation, a leading provider of financial services to institutional investors.

What we need you to do:

  • Analyse investment opportunities in the syndicated loan market (both primary and secondary) through fundamental credit research and financial modelling
  • Monitor a portfolio of credits across various industries, create timely update reports on companies/sectors and make buy/sell/hold recommendations
  • Follow developments in the leveraged finance market and maintain relationships with key syndicate banks, issuers, rating agencies and other market participants
  • Contribute towards thought leadership for internal and external distribution
  • Maintain the highest possible fiduciary standards

Who you are:

  • Leveraged loan/high-yield analyst, passionate about capital markets and leveraged finance
  • Committed to investment excellence, with strong attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude
  • An organised, positive, self-starter, who wants to be part of a successful and diverse team

Skill sets needed:

  • 7 to 10 years' leveraged finance experience on the buy-side, as a desk analyst or at a rating agency. Restructuring experience is a plus, but not required
  • Strong financial modelling skills and good understanding of legal documentation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and client-facing experience
  • Ability to initiate and manage projects, problem solve and multi-task
  • Ability to perform at a high-level in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced IT skills (Microsoft, Excel, Bloomberg, Python)
  • Graduate degree and/or CFA Charterholder
