Who we are looking for

We are looking for a lawyer to join the Global Contracts Legal (GCL) team in Gdansk, Poland. In this role you will provide legal support to State Street's global business units and corporate functions, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex agreements, supporting key Legal Department initiatives and providing related legal support services.

What you will be responsible for

As Legal Manager you will be

  • Drafting and negotiating legal contracts, including a wide range of contractual documentation published by the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (i.e. master netting agreements and credit support agreements used to document and confirm OTC transactions), governed by the laws of various jurisdictions in accordance with relevant training;
  • Working with internal legal and business colleagues to address various legal and corporate initiatives and resolving legal issues;
  • Handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with careful legal analysis and attention to detail;
  • Exercising sound judgement in dealing with clients and colleagues;
  • Training, supervising and ensuring continuous quality of work of more junior members of the team;
  • Managing processes, workflows and projects (as required) in connection with legal documentation handled in GCL;
  • Managing migration processes of new legal documentation handled in GCL;
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to State Street business units.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Law school graduate in any jurisdiction (attorney-at-law license is a plus);
  • Five (5) years or more of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department;
  • Previous contract negotiation experience is a plus.
