Job Description

Who we are looking for

State Street is looking for a Application Software Development Engineer with around 5-10 years of experience who can analyze, design, develop and maintain web-based software in a client/server environment using Java-J2EE, React JS, Servlet, JDBC, Spring Framework and REST Web Services, Spring Boot, Oracle SQL Developer and GITHub.

This is a hands-on senior software engineer position within the State Street Alpha's technology solution architecture team, to design and build State Street Alpha cloud based, an open architecture platform which provides a high degree of resiliency and flexibility , help to reduce operational unit costs while satisfying our clients, risk and regulatory requirements

What you will be responsible for

As a Java & React Developer - Senior Associate, you will possess:

  • Analyze and develop solutions to the client needs as a developer within a team following the agile development approach.
  • Maintains and supports existing software applications.
  • Consult with technical team, SQA and business analysts on aspects of functional specifications
  • Manage your efforts within the agile team and outside agile to ensure tasks are completed successfully by deadlines.
  • Design & Develop reusable components for application UI and backend code, write database queries and stored procedures while ensuring proper performance tuning.
  • Analysis of the new requirement with minimal guidance and complete coding and unit testing independently.
  • Anticipate critical issues and risks; take responsibility for resolution across the organization.
  • Provide assessments of task duration, complexity, progress, and risk to team leads.
  • Closely work with Prodution Support and Client Support.
  • Should have excellent programming, solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies.
  • Prepares systems documentation as needed.

What we value

  • Expert-level knowledge and experience with core java version 8+ and JEE technologies such as concurrency, JDBC, React JS, Oracle SQL/PLSQL,Spring Framework, Springboot, GIT, MQ/Kafka.
  • Good familiarity with LINUX OS environment.
  • Good knowledge and experience with data modeling and database development (SQL, PL/SQL).
  • Nice to have: Cloud based development, AZURE/AWS Cloud Knowledge,Tomcat Server, Veracode and Blackduck issue mitigation.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of experience in development using Java/J2EE etc.
  • Preference to have some knowledge of Financial Market domain (Derivatives, Equities, Fixed Income Mathematics, various asset classes and their characteristics, particularly with respect to market data, settlement and clearing).
