Purpose Of Role:

The IMA Accountant is responsible for daily accounting related functions to ensure clients' instructions are processed in a timely fashion. The IMA Accountant is the point of contact for internal units that offer additional services to the asset manager (i.e. Custody, Corporate Actions/Income Management, Settlement etc.), reconciliation, client administration as well as for external client (distributors, Asset Management Company and Underlying Investors in case of Institutional Clients) and analyzes the information received; making sure any client's instruction as well as discrepancy is monitored and resolved professionally.

  • Processing client's instructions
  • Investigation on client's instructions exceptions
  • Inheritance management
  • Pledges management
  • Client/Mandate reference data setup and Maintenace queries

TAX AND REGULATORY REPORTING

  • Preparation, control and production of reports for Asset Management Companies

OTHER

  • Complete IMA accountant checklist when required in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensure agreed timelines are adhered to.
  • Involvement in departmental ad-hoc projects.
  • Involvement in the training and development of other team members as necessary.
  • Make recommendations for changes to processes and procedures and prepare documentation for review as required.

NON - TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

COMMUNICATION

  • Resolve review points highlighted by senior IMA accountants and team supervisor and ensure they are kept informed of progress.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external clients and colleagues.

ORGANISATION

  • Undertake appropriate housekeeping duties e.g. filing, archiving, operation of clean desk policy.

TRAINING AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Work with Senior IMA Accountant / Team supervisor to identify objectives at the start of each year and keep them up to date.
  • Actively participate in the appraisal process by completing a self-evaluation and suggesting appropriate development.
  • Take responsibility for personal development and training.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Specific Qualifications / Skills:

  • Numeracy / Literacy skills.
  • Accuracy and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • PC literate and competent in use of spreadsheets, word processing and Outlook.
  • Basic understanding of fund administration would be useful but not essential.
  • Good level of English.
  • Fluent Italian spoken and written.

Level Of Education:

Accountancy or Business-related degree (preferred)

Previous Level Of Experience:

Previous experience in finance preferred but not essential.
