Who we are looking for

Charles River for Private Markets is seeking a Head of Product, Private Markets you will be instrumental in driving the vision, strategy, and execution of our product roadmap. You will lead a talented team of product managers, designers, customer service, and QA managers, and collaborate closely with engineering, marketing, delivery, and sales to innovate and deliver exceptional platform experiences to our global customer base.

What you will be responsible for

As Head of Product, Private Markets you will

  • Define and communicate the product vision and strategy, aligned with the company's overall strategic goals and market opportunities.
  • Conduct market research, gather customer insights, and identify emerging trends to inform product direction.
  • Assess and understand the competitive landscape to keep the company ahead of the curve and informed about our industry, supporting our corporate strategy and M&A teams, as relevant
  • Develop and prioritize the product roadmap based on strategic initiatives and customer needs.
  • Drive the end-to-end product development lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality releases.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to translate product requirements into actionable development plans.
  • Hire, onboard, mentor and lead a team including FTEs, contractors and other vendors
  • Innovation and Differentiation:
  • Champion innovation within the product portfolio, leveraging leading technological advancements to differentiate our offerings in the market.
  • Explore new technologies, partnerships, and integrations to enhance product capabilities and user experiences.
  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, legal, and customer success teams to drive product adoption, customer satisfaction (including strong NPS), and revenue growth.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and pain points through direct interaction, market analysis, and feedback channels.
  • Advocate for the customer throughout the product development process, ensuring solutions meet and exceed expectations.
  • Represent the company as a thought leader, participating in industry events, conferences, press, and forums.
  • Build strategic partnerships and alliances to strengthen our market position and drive business growth.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience in B2B enterprise companies
  • 5+ years in an investment management background, ideally in private markets
  • Minimum of 5 years in senior product management/ leadership roles
  • Strong technical background with a solid understanding of software development methodologies and UX/UI design principles.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex, innovative products that drive business results and customer satisfaction, especially in subscription based business models.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Progress towards CFA or CAIA is desirable
  • Experience using JIRA or other agile development tools

Additional requirements

  • Ability to travel as required for client engagements (-20%), including internationally

Salary Range:
$135,000 - $210,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
