As the head of the newly created Markets Intelligence Team [MI], supporting the $1.2+T ETF business in reporting & analytics, data infrastructure/quality and sales enablement as well as ambitions to support the wider Businesses beyond listed products, you will be a dynamic leader who understands or has a track record on driving data and analytics across the business for impact. Role Summary

As Head of Markets Intelligence & Strategic Insights, you will have global responsibility across our Business data strategy, provide strategic and tactical data-driven business insights to action across the business. Working closely with key stakeholder groups including: Marketing, Technology, Sales, Product and Business teams, you will have experience or a passion to bring together different types of information across the business into a single source of truth. Leading a team to then derive timely and accurate insights to support decisions making across the business. Leveraging the best in class techniques or tools, you should be seeking to leverage the power of AI driven analytics across the business and have the ability to consider back end data consideration, through to front end 'Final Mile' insights delivery. You will have the ability to think broad and strategically across global scale and will lead and drive all appropriate considerations related to the achieving of our strategic business goals and explore what data and analytics can generate to deliver the greatest impact. This role will be linked to business objectives and commercial outcomes across SSGA. As the leader of this newly created group, you will be require to work dynamically, with high expectations of delivery and have a passion to develop and nurture talent. A track record of having taken a data driven approach to delivering outcomes linked to driving business success with a commercial mind-set is imperative.

As Head of Markets Intelligence & Strategic Insights, you will:

  • Lead a global high-performing team across both Data Intelligence & predictive analytics and Analytics & Strategic Insights, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement is critical.
  • Deliver business insights taking in a variety of inputs across; Market data on flows, Client insights (including from external and internal data sources), to derive insights around business decision making as well as directional analysis for sales teams.
  • Where relevant to leverage Artificial Intelligence [machine learning, predictive analytics and generative AI] to support with analytics and forward steps.
  • Own delivery of all Client Intelligence for listed and un-listed funds to support development of strategic insights for business decision making or action
  • Develop the data strategy across the business, driving the build out of the single source of truth, along with development of a clear data framework model - to assess viability of procurement of future business data / needs.
  • Collaborate with technology to design an effective data architecture for the business enablement, including client insights to support sales driven activities, linking into marketing intelligence. Drive prioritization for the technology team Business Office requirements.
  • Oversight of vendor services (e.g. Broadridge, Salespage) and partner closely with Business Analytics and internal SalesForce teams.
  • Take ownership to derive maximum value out of all data sets used across the Business to support business decision making. Work with wealth/institutional/intermediary. Sales, marketing and finance teams to design and track key metrics and develop a shared understanding of key performance drivers and trends
  • Leverage data analytics and visualization tools to monitor sales performance track KPIs, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Proactively looks for areas of improvement across our range and where we are gaining or declining in market share, and highlights trends, patterns or themes from the data.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations to drive business growth and profitability
  • Be an excellent communicator and collaborator across multiple technical and business stakeholders and senior leaders.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated a track record to deriving commercial outcomes from bringing together large complex data sets and deriving analytics from these.
  • Have developed strategic plans across use of data, AI or analytics for 'Final Mile' insights are all advantageous, or demonstrate a willingness to learn.
  • You will be a developer of talent - supporting the growth and nurturing of talent across the team.
  • Experience across working in sales enablement and having built out a data strategy in a global asset management firm (business lines include wealth management and institutional) are advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of the various data vendors, CRM tools [Salesforce] and related technology landscape, best practices, data architecture design, implementation and integration; ability to leverage experience to deliver analytics and insights to support growth.
  • Any experience working with large datasets from multiple sources, specifically with 3rd party data such as Broadridge or firm level reports, discovery data and data packages. For both listed and un-listed products.
  • Deep understanding of master data management concepts, principles and best practices
  • Data management and governance experience and knowledge especially with sales and client data
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills and ability to work across all levels of the firm
  • Outstanding relationship building, interpersonal, and listening skills
  • Proven influence and negotiation skills
  • Building and leading cross-functional teams
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic environment by adhering to tight deadlines, the ability to prioritize and deliver on projects
  • Should take the initiative and demonstrate flexibility to think creatively to solve problems
  • An understanding of the ETF business would be advantageous, otherwise should have the desire to develop an understanding of the global ETF landscape and SSGA's business lines across Cash and Retirement

Salary Range:
$170,000 - $267,500 Annual
