Who Are We Looking For?

Reporting to the Vice Chair and CFO of State Street, the Global Head of Credit Finance and Lending (GCF), will lead the bank's global credit finance division, driving strategic growth initiatives, managing risk, and overseeing the credit portfolio to ensure alignment with the bank's objectives. This role requires a seasoned leader with extensive experience in lending, credit finance, risk management, and strategic planning. The leader will oversee almost $40 billion lending portfolio with $100 billion of undrawn lines. The portfolio includes capital call financing, BDC lending, CLOs, NAV and real estate loans to support preeminent private market firms, as well as revolvers, syndicated loans, and lines of credit that support the largest asset managers, insurers, and asset owners in the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a global credit finance and lending strategy that aligns with the bank's vision and business objectives
  • Oversee the credit risk management framework to ensure effective identification, assessment, and mitigation of credit risks and global lending activities
  • Identify and capitalize on new opportunities in credit finance to drive growth and profitability
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and markets to drive growth in lending portfolio
  • Manage and optimize credit finance operations, including credit assessment, approval processes, and portfolio management
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies to mitigate credit and operational risks
  • Optimize lending processes, systems, and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. - Implement best practices in lending operations and technology to improve customer experience and operational performance.
  • Lead and mentor a global team of lending professionals, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Set clear objectives, provide guidance, and conduct performance reviews for team members
  • Collaborate with senior management, regional leaders, and other departments to align lending strategies with overall business goals across the Investment Services, Global Markets, and Asset Management divisions of State Street
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies
  • Monitor and analyze lending performance metrics, financial results, and market trends
  • Develop and manage budgets for the GCF organization, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness
  • Drive innovation in lending products and services to meet evolving market demands and customer needs
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to maintain a competitive edge

Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in credit finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Strong understanding of global credit finance markets, global lending markets, risk management, and regulatory frameworks, ideally with expertise in US and international lending
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills
  • Proven ability to manage large teams, drive business growth, and adapt to changing market conditions
  • Demonstrate experience working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial, non-political organization / culture
  • Must be a hard-working, take-charge, and proactive leader with balanced, sound judgment
  • Demonstrated track record of working closely with management and investors to improve performance, grow the company and create shareholder value
  • A player-coach and doer; someone who takes on a lot, plans, is organized, is agile and performance driven. Consistently meets deadlines, delivers accurate work, and operates in a fluid, fast-paced manner
  • Strong financial aptitude and capacity combined with a high degree of intellectual curiosity

Salary Range:
$300,000 - $412,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
