Becoming part of the Financial Crimes Compliance team of State Street Bank International GmbH (SSBI) you will drive and shape the future of the firm's policies, procedures, systems and controls to prevent and detect financial crime.

This role can be performed in hybrid model (at least 2 days per week in the office) to match your needs and role requirements. We hire in Gdansk and Krakow.

What you will be responsible for

As Financial Crimes Compliance Advisor, Assistant Vice President you will:

  • Act as advisor to the SSBI business and central functions for requests regarding AML/KYC, Sanctions, Fraud and Anti Bribery and Corruption (ABC)
  • Analyze unusual activity in line with Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC) related laws and regulations
  • Provide Financial Crimes Compliance trainings to the SSBI business and central functions
  • Develop further FCC controls to assess proper design and execution of AML/KYC, Sanctions, Fraud and ABC related FLOD controls and support mitigation activities
  • Support the SSBI MLROs with coordinating new business and new product assessments
  • Performing assessments on potential fraud risks and support developing further the Anti-Fraud framework of SSBI
  • Support developing SSBI's central case investigation process in close collaboration and alignment with regional and global FIUs
  • Provide advice and support for FCC related projects and requests
  • The FCC Advisor will actively communicate the status of work with other team members to ensure that everyone involved is fully informed

What we value

  • Deep understanding of core financial crime risks, in particular money laundering, Know-Your-Customer (KYC) processes and Economic Sanctions as well as Fraud and Anti Bribery and Corruption (ABC)
  • Recent experience providing advice or guidance on the application of FCC related laws and according controls
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently together with different internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and being responsible for different tasks / projects
  • Strong relationship management skills

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 - 7+ years of relevant industry experience in banking or financial services
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Expertise in core financial crime compliance risks (AML, KYC, Sanctions)
  • FCC certifications or trainings would be a benefit
  • Experience with 1st or 2nd line FCC applications (KYC data base, monitoring or screening tools)
  • Proficiency in English
