Team Overview:
State Street's Centralized Modelling Analytics & Operations (CMAO) group, a part of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) division, is responsible for providing analytics-based services and solutions to business units across SST . Financial Risk Data Governance (FRDG) team within the group, which supports Credit Risk and Global Markets Risk on Corporate level on Reporting, Technology Change and Data management is looking for a self-motivated individual with a strong background in data governance to join the group. Target Individual:
- Prior Experience in Financial Services , preferably within the context of Investment Banking and/or Financial Risk. Prior experiences in data governance highly preferred . Experience in regulatory reporting, change management a plus
- Good knowledge of the Information Technology/ Data Management in Investment Banking with working experience as a data governance manager, data architect or project manager
- Has an appreciation for the value of data in technology systems and the need for governance and controls around data, prior experience in data management preferred
- Proven leadership experience in a global getting, focused on implementing policies and standards and/or technology solutions in the data space
- Proven hands-on capabilities in managing tasks independently, with a willingness and ability to engage in multiple tasks concurrently and reprioritize effectively
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and presentation skills. Ability to effectively develop and manage relationships at all levels
- Past experiences in Business Intelligence/ Reporting Tools(Spotfire, Cognos etc..) or with Business /IT controls, a value add
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of data stewards and analysts
- Work with colleagues in Enterprise Risk Management , Business Line functions, Information Technology teams to design and implement the data governance framework across multiple applications, models and risk reports
- Carry out periodic reviews of Data Quality Issues and build a DQ issue management framework that is fit for purpose
- Assist the global data governance lead in design and implementation of data governance framework for Risk reports, varying by different Reporting Tiers
- Support Audit and Assurance reviews in the spaces , and help continuously improve standards and documentation needed to support the group
- As part of BCBS239 regulatory compliance efforts and Risk reporting guidelines , ensure data governance artifacts and Risk Reporting procedures are created and maintained periodically
- Work with the data stewards across the organization to ensure open ended data issues are addressed and deliver structure and conformance to the standards laid out for the team vis-à-vis Materiality
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance preferred with an undergraduate degree in Science or Engineering pref. in a Computer Science/ Information Mgmt. related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience within large financial institutions, with background in data-operations, reporting and/or ops processes.
- Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines with multiple deliverables.
- Moderate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products (particularly Excel), Business Intelligence tools such as (Spotfire Tableau) and proficiency in any major programming language/ SQL
- Knowledge of Risk Vendor solutions such as Algorithmics, Risk Metrics, or In House Risk Solutions at banks or data catalogs such as Collibra and IGC, a big plus
- Prior managerial experience would be an asset
