Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starter Data Engineer to join our India office, responsible for handling data requests and requirements from teams across the Asia-Pacific region and supporting North America (West Coast) stakeholders. This role requires a versatile data expert with a deep understanding of business requirements and the ability to translate them into tangible datasets and data applications using modern cloud technologies and data lake / lake-house systems.
The ideal candidate will work closely with VPs, Managing Directors, and senior business users to deliver solutions using tools like Power BI, Databricks, SQL, and PySpark. They must be proficient in data transformation and integration, comfortable working in a corporate environment, and able to collaborate effectively with both business and technical teams.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will focus on realizing global synergy goals across our data teams located in Asia, North America and Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Asia-Pacific and North America to gather data requirements and business requests.
- Design, develop, and deploy data models, reports, and dashboards using Power BI, Databricks, SQL, and PySpark.
- Translate complex business needs into tangible data solutions in modern cloud architectures or traditional data warehousing systems.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and/or ETL processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability for business users.
- Work closely with senior leadership, including VPs and Managing Directors, to align data deliverables with strategic global objectives.
- Collaborate with both business and technical teams to provide seamless data integration and ensure the effective use of business intelligence tools.
- Ensure timely delivery of data projects while managing multiple stakeholders in different time zones.
- Report to a local leader in India and ensure smooth communication and coordination with the West Coast team in North America.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role, with a proven history of developing data applications.
- Proficiency in Databricks, SQL, PySpark, and Power BI.
- Strong experience in data transformations, modern cloud architectures, data lakes, lake-houses and/or traditional data warehousing systems.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand business needs from senior executives and convert them into data solutions.
- Comfortable working in a corporate environment and interfacing with both business users and technical staff.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in different time zones.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with additional Business Intelligence tools, Databricks, data lakes, and ETL systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of advanced analytics or machine learning is a plus.
