It is an exciting time to join State Street Corporation (SSC) in the Enterprise Technology Risk Management (ETRM) organization. SSC is embarking on a major technology transformation which includes technology modernization and adoption with migration to hybrid cloud premises as a primary goal. ETRM is responsible for risk leadership, oversight, monitoring, and advisement around technologies, architecture, operational processes, including security and resiliency.

Position Description

As a representative of the Enterprise Technology Risk Group, you will have risk oversight responsibility as relates to the disaster recovery program to protect firm-wide critical IT systems, data, applications, and business processes. You will also advise on remediation design and solutions to mitigate risk, assess, and test the operational effectiveness of controls, work on regulatory activities, and prepare assessments and reports for senior management. Your risk oversight responsibilities will also include State Street's technology transformation initiative and roadmap, new technology integrations (including Cloud, AI, etc.), and resiliency testing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Risk oversight of new technology and advancements in Backup and Recovery, Replication, Redundancy, Resiliency Architectures, Design Patterns, Multi-Cloud Strategy, AI, Block Chain, and Hardware/Software reliability
  • Risk review, challenge, and advisement of technology programs and remediation
  • Ensure Resiliency-by-design with new technologies
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate all technology related risks
  • Oversight and Participation in disaster recovery testing
  • Engagement with Stakeholders and SMEs in Recovery Management, Enterprise Resiliency Program, and Technology Transformation
  • Provide guidance to the design and implementation of controls
  • Ensure that technologies and resiliency align with the criticality of business services
  • Remain informed on regulatory requirements and principles including compliance with established standards
  • Ensure timely registration of Technology findings in Corporate Governance Risk and Compliance tool including mapping to risks and controls
  • Review monthly and quarterly risk assessment reporting (providing risk opinion) including risk appetite, metrics, risk position, maturity, status of programs, findings
  • Support annual maturity assessment process
  • Review rollout of new/revised policies, standards, and guidelines
  • Conduct risk assessments, regulatory reviews, remediation validation, technical design reviews, review of testing, and risk review of new technologies/capabilities
  • Track key projects in line with the ETRM Book of Work, integrate activities across EMEA/APAC, and with technology areas
  • Develop memos, reports, and presentations for various technology and risk committees to highlight findings and recommendations

Qualifications/Skills

  • A minimum 6-10 years of experience in the areas of Information Technology, Disaster Recovery, Cloud resilience, Cyber Security, and Risk along with related financial market experience
  • Understanding of technology risk management frameworks, industry best practices and regulatory requirements (NIST, COBIT, ITIL, FFIEC, DORA, etc.)
  • Experienced in Microsoft Tools (emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint), Box/SharePoint, Archer Issues Management System
  • Ability to influence and advise stakeholders on risk related activities
  • Proactive, with ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and keep multiple workstreams moving forward
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong collaboration, negotiation, and meeting facilitation
  • Experience in working on regulatory and compliance activities
  • Understanding of technology best practices and trends in the areas of Backup and Recovery, Technical Resiliency, Cloud, AI, and Cyber Security
  • Knowledge of IT Incident, Problem, and Crisis Management
  • Audit experience would be a +
  • Experience with controls design and testing
  • Minimal (Travel less than 5%)

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Certifications in Technology Risk, Cloud, cyber considered a plus

Salary Range:
$100.000 - $160.000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
