Who we are looking for

State Street is seeking a credit risk professional to analyze the bank's corporate exposure including Leveraged Loans, CLOs and FX, who can support our Enterprise Risk Management team in Munich. This analyst position will support a number of business areas, including Global Credit Finance, Global Treasury and Global Markets. The position will be a key part of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team, providing a unique opportunity for an analyst to work in a dynamic risk management environment.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for

As Credit Risk Analyst for Corporates/ Leveraged Loans you will

  • Review and make recommendations to senior credit approvers on proposed credit exposures to large scale, multi-faceted corporate borrowers typically in complex financial transactions.
  • Analyse historical and forecast financials, competitive position, industry dynamics, organizational structure, transaction legal structure, repayment risks, and other critical factors.
  • Contribute to proactive oversight of a portfolio of individual credits, collaborating with senior approvers, staying abreast of periodic financial reporting and events. Active surveillance of general macro environment.
  • Identify and ensure transparency of material credit risk issues, including exceptions.
  • Be engaged in the resolution of adversely rated credit exposures. Support on internal review and audit activities relevant to the Corporate portfolio.
  • Create and run portfolio reports to assist in portfolio oversight efforts.
  • Support and coordinate policy, guideline and procedural updates including alignment of local with global credit policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Contribute in a variety of departmental risk management and project assignments. Cooperate with specialists of broader ERM function of SSBI GmbH and State Street globally.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Successfully completed Bachelor's and/or Master's degree, preferably in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field or an equivalent educational background
  • Min. 2- 3 years of financial services experience within Credit Risk/ Risk Management in large financial institutions, emphasis on leveraged lending and knowledge of pertinent terms and conditions and current market standards for credit, security and inter-creditor agreements for leveraged loans is beneficial.
  • Knowledge in Capital Market products including Foreign Exchange, Treasury and Derivatives beneficial.
  • Knowledge of structured products and securitization markets is preferrable
  • Familiarity with regulatory risk rating requirements and application of such guidance

  • Strong communication skills with fluency in English and German
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with market information tools is also preferred
