With immediate effect we are looking for an Operations Officer that will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Functions Markets & Financing Business Risk Management Team ("CFMF BRM").
The Corporate Functions, Markets & Financing Business Risk Management (CFMF BRM) Team acts as a valued partner to the Corporate Functions and Global Markets businesses in the identification, assessment and mitigation of risk, while cultivating practices which enable a balance of business unit performance considerations with risk excellence objectives. This role will provide an excellent opportunity for the candidate to gain an understanding of the business units within the Corporate Functions organizations, as well as the Second Line of Defense groups.

The CFMF BRM Operations team supports each of the pillars of the CFMF BRM team to provide administrative, reporting and project support. The goal of the CFMF BRM Operations team is to ensure high standards are met in a coordinated and streamlined manner to improve consistency and clarity in reporting, administration, training and communication. The CFMF BRM Operations team drives consistent and value-added risk-related reporting to Business Risk Committees and Corporate Function and Global Markets leadership as a means to monitor the Risk Profiles.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of tools and techniques used for risk reporting, project management and an understanding of risk management disciplines.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Become an experienced Risk related Reporting Subject Matter Expert (SME) driving excellence in issue management by translating policy and standards into actionable, tangible requirements and ensuring effective reporting mechanisms for tracking metrics.
- Develop new reports in Power BI, leveraging existing templates / reports, to reduce manual preparation and streamlining the current Power BI solutions used across CFMF BRM.
- Create and maintain effective reporting mechanisms for tracking and presenting key risk related metrics. Leverage tools such as Excel Tool Files / Power BI for reporting and ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of data. Provide insights and recommendations to leadership based on trend analysis and reporting outcomes.
- Maintain, update, and ensure consistency across procedures related to team-wide operations. Ensure all processes align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Act as the central point of contact for procedure-related updates, inquiries, and enhancements.
- Review reports prepared by junior staff for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with standards. Provide detailed feedback to junior staff to enhance the quality of their work. Ensure all finalized reports are formalized and stored appropriately for audit trail purposes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement in issue management processes and reporting, also participating in Issue Management working groups Enterprise-wide. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of issue management requirements into the broader Team/Enterprise framework.
- Oversee the maintenance of team-wide procedures, provide leadership in reviewing and formalizing junior staff reports, and ensure documentation is thorough, accurate, and audit-ready.
- Data exporting from various system to ensure that Risk related reports are delivered timely, accurately to various Business Risk Units and Risk Advisors.
- Development of complex formulas in Excel; to provide and execute change requests on internal reporting enhancements, develop charts and graphs for internal reporting and monitoring.
- Support the preparation of Risk Profile & monthly Risk Forum dashboard - gather data, calculate metrics, develop formulas in Excel for reporting enhancements.
- Assist in the creation of senior management level risk-related reporting (e.g., Business Risk Committees, Issues Forums etc.)
- Perform various Operations BAU and ad-hoc activities / requests at the direction of management and the CFMF Business Risk Executive, and the Head of CFMF Operations
- Coordinate and work collaboratively with the other CFMF pillars to ensure Operations-driven projects and initiatives that cross over to the other pillars are appropriately executed, with clear timelines and deliverables outlined
- Build strong relationships with other team members across CFMF BRM, as well as with other groups in State Street

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- 5-6 years of professional experience in the Financial Services industry; Risk, Compliance and/or Audit experience, and project management experience is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, IT or related field
