Who we are looking for:

A key member of Azure Platform engineering team under our Cloud Native Platform Engineering Team you will be responsible to drive design and implementation of best in class Azure infrastructure to support State Street's security, governance, and workload requirements. We are looking for a engineering focused and experienced Azure Engineer with strong grounding on Azure cloud concepts, principles, Infrastructure as Code/Terraform and is able design and implement robust and automated solutions..

As an Azure Platform Engineer you will •

  • Design and build robust, scalable and secure technical solutions on the Azure Cloud •
  • Work with platform architects to define components responsibilities, plan components evolution, and ensure components will meet platform needs. •
  • Will be responsible for service enablement on Azure based on use case requirements •
  • Develop scripts to automate the deployment of resource stacks and associated configurations •
  • Utilize native Azure services to meet the firm's technology and resiliency requirements •
  • Drive Identity and access and configuration management, and monitoring strategy for Azure •
  • Work with software testers to ensure the system supports both automated and manual test needs. •
  • will closely collaborate with software development leads to understand workload requirements and guide them to the best leverage of cloud services, optimizing for performance, cost and architectural flexibility •
  • Create automation scripts for all phases of SDLC •
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues reported by monitoring systems and submitted through the ticketing system of fully documented issues, actions taken, and steps for resolution •
  • Performing other tasks as defined, planned, and approved by team lead

These skills will help you succeed in this role with MUST and NICE to have skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in any Engineering discipline •
  • Min 10+ years of IT experience in a hands on role with 3+ years of experience designing and supporting Azure environments •
  • Understanding of Agile delivery process is must. •
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure IAAS, PAAS and SAAS solutions along with cloud native design patterns and DevOps principles (Infrastructure as Code) •
  • Hands on Experience on terraform is must
  • Hands on Experience on Working on Linux / Windows Server environment.
  • Basic understanding of Encryption , TLS handshake etc is required.
  • Appropriate certifications are strongly preferred, demonstrating an understanding of core infrastructure concepts as well as data and/or DevOps principles •
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies with demonstrated hands-on experience in one or more of the following domains:
  • Core IaaS: Compute, Storage, Networking, High Availability
  • Azure PaaS Services: Azure Kubernetes Service, Event Hub etc
  • Data Platform and Bigdata: SQL Server, Azure SQL DB, , Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Data Factory / Data Bricks
  • Strong programming and scripting background in languages such as shell scripts, python, Java etc.
  • Experience in designing, coding and deploying Terraform and/or ARM templates
  • Demonstrated experience in full stack automation and Azure service enablement
  • Experience with developing solutions on managed services such as AAD, AKS, COSMOS etc.
  • Ability to develop and document deliverables compliant with established company design control and regulatory statutes
  • Experience with Azure Governance and Best Practices (Azure Policy, Role Based Access Control, Networking Architectures, CSA's CCM, Cost Management controls, etc.)
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
  • Authentication Protocols in Azure, Windows and Linux • Experience in developing business applications in Jave/J2EE, CICD, SDLC tools/Processes
  • Banking and finance domain Knowledge
  • A track record as a coach, mentor, and developer of talent
  • An ability to drive to big picture goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • An ability to quickly identify and drive to the optimal solution when presented with a series of constraints
  • Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, relationship building skills, and ability to achieve results without direct reporting relationships
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work, both personally and at a team level
  • Solid working experience on Azure IAAS for enterprise enablement •
  • Automation focused and engineering mind set •
  • Experience with design and development of solutions across on-prem and the cloud for large enterprises •
  • Strong understanding of cloud native design patterns and DevOps principles (Infrastructure as Code) •
  • Openness and ability to learn new skills and technologies in a fast-paced environment. •
  • Self motivated and passionate individual Team player
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and escalate issues across teams in a timely manner

Good to have skills:

  • Experience/Knowledge in Harness is a big plus
  • Exposure Terraform enterprise would be a big plus •
  • Experience with Ansible Tower is a plus.
  • Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, and various platforms including AWS and Azure cloud instances experience a plus
  • Experience in AWS/Google Cloud
