The Business Risk Adviser (BRA) will oversee and manage business risks that have an impact to the Asia Pacific region's Foreign Exchange Sales & Trading business. The risks are typically driven by changes or opportunities in markets, regulatory changes, or by new market entrants that have a direct impact to the business. The responsibilities will include the identification of risks, the analysis and the development of strategy around these risks as well as the coordination across different areas, regions and groups that have an involvement, contribute to or have a responsibility in handling and resolving these risks.

What you will be responsible for
As a BRA you will
FX Business aligned Risk Advisors within Business Risk Management teams are embedded within the first line of defense to both drive a strong culture of risk excellence and ensure business line controls for the FX are designed and operating effectively.
The APAC FX Business Risk Advisor, Assistant Vice President will execute the following responsibilities in support of the APAC FX Business products and business unit leadership ensuring consistency with the global CFMF BRM team wherever possible.
- Serve as a Culture Champion for Risk Excellence by leading regular FX Business aligned Risk Forums, identifying emerging risks, supporting self-identification of issues, recognizing training needs and operating as the primary point of escalation for any non-financial risk concerns in APAC FX Business
- Lead APAC FX Business applicable risk assessments, operational key risk indicator (ORKI) identification and oversight and resulting control design and implementation activities
- Maintain a complete view of all Assurance events, Audit and regulatory Exams scheduled for APAC FX Business and assist APAC FX Business with preparation, guidance and support
- Ensure risk management and internal controls are assessed and adapted appropriately within APAC FX Business transformation and change management initiatives
- Ensure APAC FX Business has ongoing adherence to Issues & Incidents policy requirements and serve in a review and challenge role from identification through the completion of remediation activities by APAC FX Business first line process owners
- Facilitate consistent execution of first- and second-line central risk program and corporate policy requirements within APAC FX Business

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 5-8 years of experience in risk, compliance and/or audit functions within the financial industry
- Additional experience as a first line process owner in a large financial institution preferred
- Demonstrated success in strengthening the internal control environment and risk mitigation in a prior first- or second-line role
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory, operational, market, and technology risks and risk management frameworks applicable to financial services
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and expectations for FX Business within the State Street organization
