Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with a track record of success in identifying, planning, and executing strategic initiatives and projects for large global teams or divisions. The Alpha Global Testing Practice is focused on the strategy, planning, execution, and overall management of end-to-end testing of the Alpha platform in support of our clients, internal business units, and industry partners. These transformation programs are often multi-year and consist of complex business models and flows across front, middle and back office, and the data that persists across the platform, our clients', and industry partners' ecosystems.

The right candidate will have experience and proven success in managing senior internal and external stakeholders, as well as overseeing and managing strategic projects and initiatives.

What you will be responsible for

This leadership role will be responsible for defining and implementing strategic projects initiatives, standards, and best practices globally across State Street's Alpha Global Testing Practice.

  • Identifying, defining, planning, and implementing short-term and long-term strategic projects and initiatives
  • Building consensus among key stakeholders for opportunities, prioritization, ownership, and accountability
  • Creating presentations and status reports that include executive summaries, project plans, return on investment, recommendations, and general status to leadership
  • Working closely with the global leadership team to ensure alignment with overall business objectives and success criteria
  • Fostering a culture of strategic thinking and innovation within the organization
  • Facilitating communication and collaboration across various stakeholders
  • Providing strategic guidance and mentorship to team members on key initiatives
  • Areas of focus include global team strategy, quality assurance program for the testing on implementation projects, financial and resource planning and management, vendor management, standardization, and business risk management

What we value

The successful candidate must have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, understand functional and non-functional testing within financial services, and have experience in strategic planning, data analysis, financial modelling, demand management, stakeholder management, and executive communication. This position will have interaction with, and exposure to, executive management within State Street and within our clients' organizations.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey strategic insights effectively
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Leadership experience and ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of industry trends and market dynamics
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and business planning
  • Deep client engagement and expectation management across project life cycles
  • Strong expertise in global capital markets and quantitative investments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, globally structured, and team-based environment, as well as the ability to work independently
  • Experience in agile methodology and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) preferred
  • Knowledge of key risk indicators, governance, oversight and escalation practices
  • Presentation preparation and delivery for business risk committees and cross organizational, executive and board of directors' committees
  • Risk management skills, especially those acquired at G-SIFI organizations and/or large public accounting firms

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above
  • Advanced degree in business administration (MBA) or related field is preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in a global team, preferably in the financial services industry, with experience that aligns with the role
