Who we are looking for

The Alpha Collateral Services Technical Lead will work on the Collateral+ platform in US. The individual will lead activities of individual contributors with accountability for results in terms of development outcome and guidance. Serves as senior developer in developing and leading integration projects and implement solutions for high impact. Strong understanding and hands on experience of technology landscape in and end-to-end development work in platform integration projects. Ensure development and delivery of work primarily related to integrating packages from vendor platforms on to State Street environment. Ability to architect/design/develop with minimum requirements by effectively coordinating activities between business analysts, developers and managers. Uses advanced technical expertise in analyzing, designing, estimating, and developing software applications to project schedule. The qualified individual must have a background in application development, a solid understanding of leading IT technologies, particularly Azure, Databricks, Big Data technologies like (Hadoop, Hive, Spark), Kafka, Scala, RDBMS and UNIX along with deep domain knowledge and framework/standards followed in State Street. Should also have proven ability to work successfully across cross functional teams.

What you will be responsible for

As Technical Lead you will

  • Implement a comprehensive collateral management platform that services client needs, drives simplification, and reduces redundant collateral capabilities bank wide
  • Develop complex data pipelines in Azure
  • Develop client facing technology solutions from inception to production working with the business team and the development team to deliver a seamless user experience.
  • Create and maintain data lake house on Azure Databricks
  • Implement standard, simplified data management and systems integration to ensuring flexible, robust overall offering
  • Lead very complex and challenging business/system requirements working session by facilitating strategic user meetings.
  • Responsible for the UX designs and business analysis, incorporating ergonomic and intuitive design principles to enhance user experience.
  • Work with business team to understand requirements and develop wireframes and articulate the vision to the development team and oversee end-to-end development lifecycle.
  • Drive the analysis of current processes and performing market research to deliver technology solutions with enhanced user experience.
  • Decompose abstract and complex details/concepts into business and functional requirements that can be understood by the stakeholders (i.e. end users, developers, testers, etc.)
  • Create Solution/Architecture documents and other project related documents with clear and concise language consistent with reusable methodologies and frameworks.
  • Work with the project team to develop and manage project plans including issue resolution and risk mitigation
  • Consult with users, developers, testers, and implementation specialists.
  • Ensure governance with the project methodology standards, documentation, and approvals (e.g. project artifacts, tollgates, etc.)
  • Manage participation from required stakeholders to ensure accurate deliverables
  • Manage cross team dependencies with other business and IT areas
  • Experienced, highly skilled in Collateral Management concepts
  • Build and maintain Data Pipeline in Big Data using technologies like Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka,
  • Build and maintain applications with micro services based architecture
  • Set up near real-time big data pipelines between multiple systems
  • Set up Kafka pipelines for real time data integration
  • Select and integrate identified Big Data tools and frameworks required to provide requested capabilities
  • Setup complex data pipelines to integrate Data Lake with upstream and downstream systems using event orchestration engine.
  • Utilize tools, technology and various methodologies to create functional and intuitive solutions for user interfaces of desired products
  • Manage all phases of technology development
  • Participate in a small, experienced team on a rapid, agile development schedule
  • Work on Collateral Management projects, understanding the business domain and continually develop business knowledge
  • Support and monitor production systems
  • Monitor performance and suggest necessary infrastructure changes
  • Set up continuous integration jobs/pipelines using Jenkins
  • Tune backend queries for better application and system performance
  • Knowledge of clients' margin calculations and comparisons
  • Being familiar with legal documentation including ISDA CSA, etc.
  • Knowledge of regulatory obligations including UMR, Variation Margin Calls for OTC Derivative clients
  • Ensuring all client queries are dealt with in a timely and professional manner

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field; and
  • 10+ years of experience in professional software development.

Additional requirements

  • Proven experience with Kafka, Scala and Big Data technologies like (Hadoop, Hive, Spark),
  • Working knowledge of scheduling tools either Autosys, CRON or Quartz Job Scheduler;
  • Familiarity with SOAP and RESTful APIs;
  • Proven in-depth knowledge of object oriented design methodology and design patterns;
  • Solid understanding of database concepts;

Salary Range:
$130,000 - $205,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
