The Retail Regional Director is responsible for delivering profitable growth of sales and services within the region. As a Regional leader, this person represents the company with integrity within the community, helping to cultivate strong customer relationships with businesses that will drive value for the organization. They must build effective relationships with partners across multiple disciplines including National Operations, Human Resources, Finance, Facilities and Real Estate, and Print and Marketing, to ensure the regional team executes consistently and with ethical responsibility in achieving operational excellence. Own the people plans by attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.

Core Responsibilities:

The Regional Director - Owns and is responsible for driving sales and profit growth across Retail and Online/Omnichannel for 60 plus retail locations.

Customer Centricity - Create a region-wide culture where field leaders know their top customers to drive retention and loyalty. The Director fosters a culture of putting the customer first by providing services and products that fit the needs of our customers ensuring a high level of satisfaction, resulting in a lasting and growing customer base.

People Excellence - Cultivate open communication with HR partners to ensure the region is supported with solid external recruiting process and internal talent pipeline. Take accountability to ensure success of developmental programs and succession planning. Create clear accountability through programs which are business driven/owned and HR supported.

Driving Execution - Direct and coach Field Leaders to prioritize key company growth initiatives to drive topline sales and EBITDA. Set key operational standards with expectations of first-time execution.

Financial Acumen & Fiscal Responsibility - Manage key performance indicators and P & L levers to optimize business plan results. Increase revenue and profit year-over-year by taking corrective actions on underperforming markets and rewarding responsible risk-taking that leads to excitement around growing categories and new business development.

Scope of Duties:

  • The Regional Director coaches and develops Field Leaders (District Managers and Market Managers) s in establishing a high-performance sales and service culture while demanding consistent operational excellence.
  • Translate mid- and short-term sales and profit strategies into operational reality by aligning appropriate resources and personnel across the organization and driving superior execution from field teams centered on high ethical standards of conduct.
  • Consistently takes advantage of teachable situations to offer useful real-time training, coaching and feedback for improvement that promotes development in direct reports. Promotes opportunities for team members to own and develop self-improvement to reach individual and team targets. Develops talent by shaping roles and assignments in ways that both leverage and develop people's capabilities while ensuring a consistent record of success. Actively promotes and fosters shared learning across enterprise business units.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years' multi-unit leadership or multi-department leadership.
  • Experience in a service-focused retail environment strongly desired.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including MS Excel.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills.
  • Able to multitask and pivot quickly as needed.

Critical Skills:

  • Conceptual Skills - the ability to take a strategy and bring it down to the stores through execution.
  • Experience setting the example of coaching for store and district leaders to follow.

Key Competencies:

  • Customer Focus, Dealing with Ambiguity, Organizational Agility, Presentation Skills, Business Acumen.
