We are looking for a creative, passionate, and experienced senior developer advocate to join our Backstage Product Area in Spotify.

In this position, you'll have the opportunity to work with our community and customers, create technical content and inspire platform engineering teams how to revolutionize their developer experience using Backstage.

What You'll Do

  • As a Senior Developer Advocate, you will work closely with the product and GTM teams as well as our customer to:
  • Create technical content , from documentation to tutorial videos to inspire customers how to make the most from Backstage
  • Motivate and empower our customers and community while maintaining relationships with platform engineering champions and find opportunities to collaborate.
  • Support our sales and partner relationships teams by working closely with customers and partners as part of our beta programs, gather feedback, and support customers in their journey with Backstage.
  • Speak regularly at meetups, conferences, podcasts and livestreams, presenting and demoing the product and hosting coding sessions with developers and platform engineering champions.
  • Advocate for our customers and community needs in our product planning, roadmap, future developments.

Who You Are

  • You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering or developer advocate roles
  • Strong background in software engineering or DevOps, with knowledge of Kubernetes, CI/CD, and other DevOps tools.
  • Proficiency in web development with React, TypeScript and Node
  • Experience in building or integrating developer tools, platforms, or portals.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and enterprise-level integrations.
  • You are excited about working in a new, fast-paced and innovative space and are passionate about the opportunity to make developers tasks delightful and efficient.
  • You're a compelling storyteller who can communicate in succinct and inspiring ways to a variety of audience types and comfortable with public speaking
  • You are comfortable working with distributed teams across multiple offices and timezones
  • Background in platform engineering and (nice to have)
